Who cares about what your parents think about gaming? The important thing is, how do you feel about it? If you feel it's a distraction from your work and you feel it might deter you from getting into a good uni then you should do something about it. Games are nice, but your future is far more important.
I may sound like an old fart but it comes from experience :)

You're 17 and finishing college and your parents are worried you're not applying yourself? o.0

Am I missing something?

The real problem behind my situation is my parents dismissal of gaming as a positive experience and (without trying to be pretentious) as an artistic medium. It's made me quite upset recently. So, any advice?
15 hours gaming a week isn't all that much [footnote]at least compared to me; If I'm not doing anything social I'll probably do 40-50 in addition to a full time job and commute - feel free to use that as an example of how bad you aren't if you think it'll help![/footnote], but yeah, if they aren't interested in games they'll probably be dismissive. Getting them to play probably won't help either - my gf is basically uninterested in gaming, though with the rather critical distinction that she accepts that I enjoy it.
If you're getting As and Bs that sounds good, but just stick a bit more effort into doing coursework.
It probably doesn't feel like at at the moment, but teachers generally will have a better idea of what you need than you do. You only do it once, they do it with perhaps a few hundred kids a year.
Put some visible effort into school work and you'll have better options (which is most important at this point even if you were to decide against uni), and your parents will see that you're taking the teacher's feedback seriously.
Perhaps offer to do a consistent 2 hours of 'homework' a weeknight on the condition that they don't in any way try to police what you do with your remaining free time (aside from whatever housekeeping or cooking or whatever that you do anyway).
And if they're still dickish, then at least you know you've done the right thing and made an effort to improve yourself and please them.

Yeah... It kinda caught my attention too.

Well. If you're really getting A's and B's in your work, it means that you're doing good right? Now, I'm going to side with AWAR here and say that you shouldn't really give a toss about what your parents think about gaming (and again, ~15 hours a week is not much, as you're well aware). Your teachers havea better idea of whats better for you than your parents. I say this not only because of your grades, but also because you're studying something thats not really all that simple.

Besides, it's kind of apparent that they have a very strong prejudice against gaming as a whole, so I really woulnd't try to convince them otherwise. Maybe bumping your grades a notch will shut them up?.

Best of luck man.
