Far too many to mention, mainly cartoons from when I was a kid.

I used to love Thundercats when I was growing up and got the DVD recently ... it was almost painful to watch. I do not remember it being that corny.

Used to love the old (well, it wasn't old at the time) Doctor Who in the 80's, we had Sylvester McCoy as the Doc then.

Watched a few episodes yesterday and damn were the monsters bad. It's never been known for fantastic monster creation (Daleks used to be egg cartons) but the state of them in the 80's was god awful. And they used to terrify me.

Spaceballs... So much Spaceballs. That was so funny when I was younger but about a year ago me and a friend watched it again and god it is so bad. I still like Ludicrous Speed but argh the rest of the film is so unfunny and slightly pathetic.

Ya, this is why I will never go back and watch the Bill and Ted films again. So, so certain they won't be as good as I remember.

"Your mom's hot dude"

"Shut UP Ted!"

Ah the memories...

I tried watching the original 'Pokemon' a while back.

It was okay until I got into the Mewtwo Returns/whatever season followed place.

The old X-men and Spiderman cartoons, when I watched them as a kid they were so intense and action packed, but I saw one again not too long ago, and it was just so... boring, the way no one ever dies, the plot is always Magneto has an evil scheme, he almost succeeds, the x-men show up, they fight for a bit, break off and Magneto runs away. The same thing every damn episode.
Great for kids, for adults not good at all.

This direct to video film "Adventures in Dinosaur City".
Here is a glimpse of it-
The film was like Honey I shrunk the Kid meet Dionsaurs (the TV series) and fightning. I used to loved it as a kid (what is it with us when we're kid and used to loved anything Dinosaurs related?). Looking it back now, it's so corny (I no longer loved the whole kids saving the day/ world sort of mechnic) and it look low budget!

All That was not "all that", like I remember it. Neither was Kenan and Kel for that matter.

I remember really liking this anime called Ultimate Muscle when I was like, 8, maybe 9. A few months ago I ended up watching some of it with my little brother.

How the fuck did people like that shitty show? I mean jesus, it's a massive pile of stupid plot, retarded dialogue, terrible jokes, awful animation that for the most part was just still images of shitty pictures.
God it was bad.

I actually watched Spaceballs just recently, I still think it's funny.

OT: More then half of the cartoons I used to watch when I was 8 or so.

Power Rangers. I loved it as a kid, but when I look at it now, I wonder how anyone ever enjoyed it.

Thankfully, Animaniacs seems like it hasn't aged a day. :)

I remember not liking the original Thundercats when it still aired on TV all that much. Seeing like five minutes of an episode when they showed them before showing the new version reminded me of why.

OT: I can't think of a lot of shows that I remember watching and loving when I was younger(mostly because I can't remember a majority of the cartoons I've seen over the years) that I would probably regret watching again now, but I can think of a game or two.

I remember loving (and being pretty good at) Star Wars Battlefront 2. When my brother bought a copy and we play it for a while I could only think of two things. One: I don't remember the enemy AI being that good nor the friendly AI being that dumb; and two: no wonder I used to use cheat codes while playing.

EDIT: Power Rangers. The effects and whatnot are just cheesy when you look back on it.

Nostalgia backfired for me when I tried playing the first RPG I ever played again for the memories.

Adult Redlin finds this game boring. Couldn't get past the second map area before dropping the controller and admitting to myself that I wasn't having fun. When you're playing a game for the sake of playing it and not for your own enjoyment, you should stop.

The X-Men cartoon. I only needed to get through 1/4th of an episode before I recoiled at the sheer lamery.

For this interested, this is the offending clip of the only episode I could stomach:

Pretty much the only example I can think of is Dragon Ball. All three series of it.
When I was about 11 to 14 years of age, I was the world's biggest Dragon Ball fan, I'd watch it whenever it was on and never get sick of it.
But I've tried watching it again recently, and I can't stand it. I really can't. It's awful. I have to wonder how I ever liked it at all.

On the flipside, some stuff is actually better than I remember it being. Most notably, Batman: The Animated Series is much more enjoyable now that I'm old enough to appreciate every element of it, and Animaniacs is much funnier to me now that I'm old enough to understand every joke and all the references.

I used to watch wrestling back in the day. WWF with Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior. I saw an old video of it and it hurt to watch. Eugh the power rangers movie, the brady bunch movie, My little Pony is just full of morals, too many morals. Oh and Disney's Pokahontas. That properly sucked.

I still love Trap Door, Animaniacs and of course Count Duckula. Hell yes!

This, except it was more 7-11.

It mostly makes me cringe now but I do love the abridged.

I umm...huh....i don't believe anything i rewatch/play was really bad i might just go "meh its not AS good as i recall but still pretty cool" but for most cases its just as good or a lot better. I guess one thing that was a nostalgia backfire would be thinking back to all these great old things and thinking "god i wish someone was still making these or something this way" or the times were i think of something great and then the fact someone made a new version which was basically an overpriced way of saying "i can shoot your childhood right in the damn face and you can't do a thing to stop me". So yeah...that...and this captcha: the bee's knees....i think i actually remember people using that -.-

A true and proper MST3K fan does not shrink at corny old shows that were once loved. I loved Sliders too.

When I was younger I used to love an anime called Yu Yu Hakusho (sp?). A friend of mine was watching an episode randomly on his computer and I was just stunned. I was like 'I enjoyed this as a kid? God... damn!"

I've been spoiled by too much Ghost in the Shell and Elfen Lied...

A gaming example would be the original Resident Evil. I remember it as being the greatest game evar! Then I played the Directors Cut a few weeks ago. Twas total crap. The dialogue is so bad (I remmber it being good) and other things. I still love REs 2, 3, the REmake, Code Veronica and Code Veronica X, 0, and 4 though.
