I think I see where your going with this, and maybe those quests could be given to you by NPC's and you could make them stand out with brightly colored (coloured to make everyone happy) punctuation marks of some kind...I'm thinking maybe 'periods' or wait better yet question marks or exclamation points.

Avoid it like the plague, it's the most painfully grind-tastic thing I've ever played, I got to about level 18 before deciding I would much rather slit my wrists than spend another hour pressing *Random battle* five hundred million times just so I could buy a bigger two dimensional mech, to do the same thing again for another day.

On an actual, topic contributing note, as EClaris said, I'd really quite like a steampunk MMO, a well done steampunk MMO, one that has an expertly crafted storyline, as well as a well establish lore.
Hell, half the reason I play/played Guild Wars was because of the storyline/lore.

Not a problem, I would never want to see anyone endure the sheer boredom that game brings about in a person, it's not a pretty sight.

LucasArts: The MMO

Basically like The Sims Online (I think... I never actually played it...) where you just live out ordinary days, flushing yourself in an outhouse to travel to various worlds from Loom, Grim Fandango, Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, etc... Play as a human, grim reaper, tentacle, weaver, pirate, and so on and so forth.

Bad things can happen to you (REALLY bad things, even), but you can't actually die.

Let's just keep Star Wars out of it, though. Not that I'm not a Star Wars fan, but they've already had their MMO.

A good steam punk MMO could convince me (like Arcanum), but it would have to play nothing like WoW, be a lot less co-dependent, and no fees. I've seen what my money got me on WoW, and that was a big fat zero across the board on service.
