Does anyone else think that watch dogs looks really, and i mean really boring? This game is hyped everywhere, alot of threads previews sneak peeks and coverage for quite sometime now. And every time I see game play and listen to other people go crazy I find myself just sort of staring going.. meh. Am I alone on this? What about this game is so enticing? What am i missing here? I understand the premise, I'm 33, and to me this feels like its going to be one of those games that looks better on paper when reading about it then it does while your playing it.

*Side note* How has nobody mentioned on the escapist how freaking fun Plants v.s. ZOmbies Garden warfare looks. :D

I know right, Garden Warfare looked fun as hell. Watch Dogs is kind of on my radar at the moment, but after playing AC3 i'm not that excited for it as others are.

Garden Warfare looks amazing. Fuck da haters, it's clearly more "Orcs Must Die!" than "Gears of War with plants" like some are implying.

From what we've seen Watch Dogs looks like a slow-paced, open ended game with lots of different ways of solving problems. Now, this impression could be VERY wrong, but for now it looks like exactly the kinda game I like. Although, what little we've seen of the combat, it seems to have too many "cinematic" pretensions. I can forgive that, though.

I'm liking what I saw of Watch Dogs, although not too big on the combat, but the sneaking and hacking seem awesome.

I thought Watch Dogs looked pretty good when I first saw it a year ago. Not a system seller, not for me, anyway, but definitely something that I would pick up used or at a discount if I had a system for it. And it's a multi-platform game, so you're not really being a PS4 buzzkill either. :p

So you didn't like the game, not a crime.

I'm looking forward to it, but I can understand someone not sharing the same opinion.

I'll be honest, it seems like Sony have pressed every right button ACCEPT announce even 1 game that gets me hyped. Knack is my best bet though.

I think Watch Dogs is a really interesting title. If you want the GTA-style action open world game, I hear a new one is coming out soon. You might have heard of it? :)

Watch Dogs is a lot more cerebral than GTA, and clearly rewards creative thinking and patience. Considering most open world games are "GTA in [setting]" it's nice to see one of them trying for something different. Non-lethal focus is also incredible, as well. The mindless slaughter of the GTA clones has gotten pretty tiresome, frankly.

Guy, if you don't like the game, you just don't buy it. All this lovely Sony cheer is just an extension of that to the Xbone. Don't worry about it!

you know I fell the same way, the game seems to be picking up traction but I just don't get it. I thought I had missed something it looks ok and I am sure it will sell well but I don't see it breaking any real ground

Watch Dogs looks like an alternate way to handle the open-world games we're getting used to. It looks slower paced, but to me that's kind of interesting. I get the feeling the game isn't going to be about mowing people down with guns, which I'm starting to get sick of in games. It looks like it's more about escape and confusion.

How many games have you played that actually have espionage as a core mechanic? Usually it's just an excuse to throw you into combat scenarios. This is kind of a risky IP to be putting all those resources into, but that makes it even more exciting!

I don't know, I think I left to grab my chimichanga during that trailer. However, that wasn't the reason why I watched the conference.

That's why I watched the conference. Those few minutes of games that might not even be out for years to come or may not even have shown up at E3 this year was why I sat through the whole presentation. Don't get me wrong, I thought the other games looked cool, but those two(mostly KH3) were the sole reason why I sat on my ass all day waiting for this conference. They confirmed my belief that I wanted this console, and then with the low price point, I am willing to get it day one.

This is almost exactly how I feel.

While I am at least mildly intrigued in the concept of the game, the more I see of it the less it "grabs me". There's just something about (what little we've seen of) the gameplay samples that just feels...I don't know how to put it. Not boring, but neither does it seem overly exciting.

Time will tell.

Oddly, though, I am surprisingly excited to try out Titanfall. It seems almost as if Respawn Entertainment thought, "Let's make a better, actually fun version of Brink. And, let's toss in some really fun looking mech combat, for good measure."

Whether they've succeeded? Well, again, time will tell.

[sub]Not on PS4, but even so.
And yes, Garden Warfare looks fun.

I think Watch Dogs looks like similar to nearly all the games they showed at E3 (and coincidentally many games currently appearing on the PS3); grim-dark, post apocalyptic, 3rd person shooting emotion polygons. Meh...

That said, I am still buying a PS4. I need some console to get the few, interesting games that aren't coming out for the wiiU. I just HOPE that one day Sony brings out the big guns and gives us Jack, Ratchet, 3D Dot Game Heros, Crash etc. etc.

Yes it is.

A rather weaker and crappy version of "Orcs Must Die" it is.

Or at least thats the vibe I got from the trailers. I will give it a chance but... wow... the art style is so bad... like REALLY bad.

Why is this a PS4 buzz kill? Watch dogs is multi-platform. Shouldn't this be a watch dogs buzz kill thread?

I only saw Watch dogs at this E3 but I think it looks good. Looks like GTA with hax0rz, so if GTA is a big deal then this should be.

TBH, GTA has been going for yeas and I've played all of them ... even london, which I never see mentioned but it's like GTA who? Saints row 4 is going ape shit bananas, watch dogs is going hax0rz and GTA is commuting in traffic ....

I actually enjoyed all the AC games. AC3 is weird, but perfectly playable and the AC4 demo looked sick. As for Watch Dogs, I'm seriously interested. It's like GTA only you're not a crazy gangster but a vigilante, that sounds much more appealing to me.

Then again, to each his own. If you don't like open-world games, then you won't like Watch Dogs, no biggie. If Ubisoft doesn't rush the game, it has some great potential, though, seeing that GTA5 shuns next-gen for a while.
