With Dragon Age Origin and the 2nd Mass Effect having just come out, I think I am starting to become a Bioware fanboy. Now before this I have never tooted anyone horn more than necessary for any game, no matter how good. Nor have I constantly thought about any game whenever I was not playing it, just wishing to play it some more when I got home. I didn't have to tell all my friends about the games but now its starting to happen.

I think with these two games (plus the 1st Mass Effect) I am starting to talk about Bioware all the time. Mass Effect is probably the best game I have ever played with dragon age in the top 5-10. The games are just so good that I can't stop myself. Ive been resistant to flood the forums because I know from experience that fanboys can get annoying real fast. And this thread is not really to fawn over bioware. Its more of a revelation that I might have become a fanboy.

Has anyone else realized at some point that they were turning into a fanboy or looked back on something and realized that they are a fanboy? Its interesting to be obsessed with something like this, while at the same time trying not to annoy the shit out of everyone around you.

Hes too far from being saved. We're gonna have to kill him.
But no, if you're going to be any kind of fan boy, at least there are good reasons to love Bioware games.

Who cares? I'm an absolutely insane Ratchet & Clank fanboy, but i just end up embracing that nature. Believe me, if something really, really deserves praise, you shouldn't be ashamed of giving credit where it's due.

Meh, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure everyone is a fan boy/girl for something even if they don't want to admit it.
At least your a fanboy of something decent with credibility, unlike Halo or Twilight

I can't say I'm a fanboy of anything gaming (although I used to be a Command & Conquer fanboy. Damn you EA for ruining it!), but I am a fanboy of Douglas Adams' work i.e. Hitchhikers and Dirk Gently.

There's nothing wrong with being a BioWare fanboy......unless, of course, you like THIS GAME [http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2008/09/box-relsonic-chronicles.jpg] [small](yeah, it's actually made by BioWare).[/small]

I've become a... fan (I refuse to be a fanboy.) of music and certain game companies I guess.

Nightwish, Krypteria, Epica. Love those bands.

NIS, Disgaea is fucking amazing.

Valve, Tf2, Half Life, what's not to like?

I'm probably getting close to becoming a fanatic about Bayonetta, though. I just finished beating it for the sixth time. I have all the achievements and I've spent 58+ hours in the game. I believe I'm addicted...

You say that as if it's a bad thing...

But seriously, Bioware just seems to excel at what it does. Mass Effect 2 is not perfect, but I think it's Bioware's best work to date. I've playing it fanatically over this weekend, and it's really phenomenal. And if I know my Bioware history, it's the first direct sequel they've done since Baldur's Gate II, and the sense of continuity and expansion is amazing. The more I see of the universe they've created, the more of it I want to see. The writing's also better than ever before.

So yes, I love Bioware (and Garrus) for their games. They seem to be learning a lot from previous games and constantly improving on things.

You could be a fanboy of a lot worse (a particular console for example). At least Bioware have consistently turned out titles worthy of admiration. I've been on the wagon since KotOR.

I'm a fanboy of very specific characters...all but one of them TYPE-MOON related, so I guess I'm their fanboy by default.

We all are.

I for one, will declare war on people who think Jak and Daxter is not a good series.

I realized i was a fan boy of Blizzard, and specifically Starcraft when i played SC, and then looked at every other RTS i played before and sighed.

But honestly, being a fan boy isn't really a bad thing as long as you do it in private.
EX. if somebody says "Starcraft sucks," i don't reply. this is what you must learn to do.
