A performer at former President Barack Obama’s birthday party managed to take stealth pictures of the opulent Martha’s Vineyard event and share them with Instagram followers.

Rapper Trap Beckham and manager TJ Chapman discreetly snapped pics of the event’s high-end food, drink and swag offerings and talked to their followers as the party unfolded, according to screenshots of the posts, which were later deleted under the event’s photography ban.

So yeh, I actually am pretty disappointed to see Obama kinda manage to put his foot in it this badly.

In a time when people are supposed to still be being very cautious throwing a 100 person plus Birthday bash when some people have been having to avoid being able to attend the funerals of peole they knew it's not exactly the best look.

The real problem is the fact that a president can become a billionaire because of how corrupt he was. The stimulus he provided was too small, and 1/3 of it was tax cuts. He hired many conservative economists like Larry Summers to be his advisors. He jailed none of the high-level wall street executives involved in the 2008 recession. He could have passed a public option or even single-payer by simply invoking cloture or budget reconciliation but refused to because he was afraid of being seen as an angry black man or a radical black power socialist.

The only good part of his presidency is that it revitalized the left due to how deficient Gen X and especially baby boomers were when it came to being progressive.

So by abiding by CDC guidelines, people are doing "bad" things? What the fuck is wrong with everyone?

The CDC mask guideline is to wear masks INSIDE ONLY IF COMMUNITY TRANSMISSION IS HIGH. Community transmission is not high at Martha's Vineyard and from the pics I could see, I think they were all outdoors (not that it even matters cuz it's an area with low transmission and chances are pretty high at least like 90% of the people there already were vaccinated). Why do you want people to wear masks outside? It's pointless and always has been.

63 cases. 63 lets say it was 150 people and 150 staff (yes I know that's a lot of staff but still) that's 21% of those who attended.

That figure represents the highest number of cases in a week since April.

They haven't found any link via contact tracing. Regardless of whether or not there is or isn't a major link to said party, what does it matter? What CDC guidelines did the party break? None that I can see.

Technically none but PR wise and from a lets say perspective of sense or trying to appear morale quite a few guidelines when people have spend month being told they can't meet loved ones and have to take precautions and try to not have big gatherings etc.

Who were told that they couldn't see loved ones recently (outside of possibly the hot spots)? Did you not see all the people going to baseball games and concerts like Lollapalooza? I went to the Renn Faire 2 weeks ago and had a friend's birthday at the bar doing suicide karaoke last Friday. If people aren't seeing loved ones, that's their own fault.
