Obesity, Does it bother you?

Obesity doesn't always equate to someone having a terrible diet or being lazy, just as not all thin people are uber-healthy. I know a girl who can eat crap all day long and still be thin as your average stick. Admittedly, there will always be lazy people, or people who are simply beyond the old diet and exercise.

I have an incredibly slow metabolism, which means despite eating maybe an apple or two and some coffee during the day followed by a dinner usually made of red meat and veges, I am overweight. If I so much as consider eating junk, I put on weight like THAT. I managed to get rid of the pudge for a year or so by spending an hour and a half on a treadmill every day and having all my meals planned. I don't have time to spend an hour and a half on a treadmill any more. It's a colossal annoyance.

Naw i don't have a problem with it.. if your chubby and or slightly fat its all fine by me.. But when you get to a point where you cant even walk anymore.. You really have to rethink your life.. I myself and pretty chubby.. im 6'5 and about 220.. Thats not to bad considering how tall i am but i rarely get very much exorcise and have little muscle.. So i guess you can call me overweight.. But you know i dont have a problem with it.. Just because im not a health freak doesn't mean im any less of a person.. I work out some days.. It just takes motivation.. No one likes to work out.. I mean it hurts.. So yeah i don't have a problem with it unless it is so bad to the point you cant even move.. And you also have to take into consideration that everyone is different.. metabolisms ect. ect.

I have been fat for my whole life, when I was born premature they only just managed to fit me in the damn incubator. You know what, I don't care about being fat, it takes a lot of will power and effort to get fitter and if I was able to get fitter I would have done it already. Most fat people are too lazy to care, it's just a lifestyle, like you being skinny and fast. Also: I eat quite healthily, I eat pasta for lunch and fish for dinner most of the time, and I get more excerise in then my other skinny friend, I was just born like this, and I can't be bothered to push myself enough to get fitter.

My names Aengus, which is another spelling of Angus, guess what my nick name is.

One more thing I forgot to add to my previous post:
I find that pity, in certain circumstances, is just as cruel as plain old hate!
Okay, maybe i should replace the word pity with "Friendly Concern"?

Nothing against fat people

But Morbidly Obese? That's another issue.

These people are 3 - 5 times the size of an average person, they can't walk properly much less run.

Ricky Gervais has a joke about a woman who could survive without 10 pies a day. He asks "What about 9 and a half?"

Many of the strongest guys I know are obese.

They're technically obese, in terms of numbers and the BMI bullshit, but do try to remember, muscle weighs more than fat.
But if they are obese as in keg sticking out of stomach, then thats hard for me to imagine.
Welcome to Powerlifting.

I think it's weird how there are so many TV show's that try and make fat people feel good about themselves, whilst health issues relating to it are bigger killers than anything else. We don't have programs on TV telling smokers to be proud of themselves. I see a double standard. Both are groups of people who over indulge in something that can kill them, yet one group of people are getting bucket loads of sympathy and pride tossed in their direction, and the other group are labeled as idiots and assholes. Nuts! Is what I say.

I don't hate the obese, but it sure pisses me off when I see morbidly fat people in line at McDonald's ordering a Big Mac.

The kind of guy who has to wear huskies is fine but the kind of guy who insists on wearing spandex and is obese is bad. The kind of guy who has to recline a little in the movie theater is okay but the kind of guy who takes up 2 seats is not okay. The kind of guy who has to crouch down a little during photos is okay, but the guy who has a row to himself is not okay. See where i'm getting at? Being chubby is okay as long as you can manage it, but if you are nearly as wide as you are tall, then there are problems

When I was in High School, i was often called by the nickname Weasel or Mongoose, since i was 1 a fast runner and 2 i was the skinnniest and tallest guy in class. I was kind of the guy who was at the top of the PE class, always in the top runners, always in the guy who could bench and press the most, and a bunch of other stuff.
Now as a former goodish runner myself... what is are your times? XD I'm female so I have an excuse to be slower. :p

Mile: 5 minutes 24 seconds
5k: 17:11
800 m: 2:21

As for obese people, my grandmother is horribly obese. It upsets me that she let herself go as such but I don't hate her or anyone else horribly obese for that matter. I've dated guys who were over weight. *shrug*

I'm not overweight, though having been, and knowing how bad it is, you have to bear in mind that many people who are obese have self-esteem problems, due to or as a result of (stop denying it, I've been there), and whilst I sure aren't the skinniest around, I also like to do some exercise weekly (namely fencing (AWESOME) to keep fit and making sure I can catch the rather poor public transport my city has. GOD THOSE DRIVERS ARE DIPSHITS!

In high-school I was really fat but as I got older I lost the weight

Sometimes the hormones of puperty and such can cause children to be fat, regardless of diet and exercise. They call it `puppy fat` for a reason.

If a person is fat, it is not always their fault. There are too many causes to discriminate.

What does bother me though, is when you see fat young children with their fat parents eating junk food. The one`s who insist that their obesity is `genetic`. I do not think that most cases of obbesity are genetic (thought some might be), otherwise their would have been a obesity epedemic at the same scale through history. I really hate seeing it because the parents teach that child a bad lifestyle which in effect sentences them to a lifetime of obesity and related problems.

I think is is really wrong to blame all obesity on genetics or other factors. However, I really do feel bad for those who despite trying and trying, for reasons beynd their control, cannot loose weight.

I guess there are too many sides to the story.

When they take up two whole seats so I can't sit down..

Then it's a crime against humanity. Nothing more frustrating than sitting on half a seat with some fat guy grazing next to you.

Because I'm lazy. That simple.
I am with you brother. Who wants to run around the city in spandex looking like a twat. Or lift weights only to put them back down again.
I have this thing against useless labour.
thats why people are fat
