Check this website. It scans your computer and tells you what is lacking in order to play the game of your choice. Life saver when looking at buying new PC games when you're unsure if you can run it or not.

It's your processor. 2.00 GHz is practically nothing.

Or your graphics card, if that's a dual.

what video card are you using?
Holy shit, an epic lurker.

OT: I recommend shutting off some of the eye candy vista/7 has, cuz it looks like you're using a laptop. When in game, turn all your settings low for a start, then gradually increase them and take notice of when the framerate drops. Shaders and anti aliasing use a fair amount of power I think.

No, reall, darkbshadow is very, very right, we can't really tell you anything until you tell us what graphics card you're using. If you're running an intel onboard card, guess what the problem is.

Its the fact you're trying to play it on a laptop thats more than two years old and didn't cost $6000 at the time of purchase.

Laptops are worthless for gaming.
Not really, they are still more expensive than computers, but even in Australia you can pick up an awesome gaming laptop cheapish. This link is for a US site I think and is a good example of an awsome laptop for under $2k.

You know you can build a good PC for about 500-600 dollars nowadays right? My apologies if it was sarcasm.

My VAIO gets a 4.9 on the system rating, yet it struggles with Halo 2.

If you want to play any games that came out in the last few years you should invest in a desktop.

Turn grass off if you haven't and do all that sort of stuff. That should help a bit.

My Asus G1S pulls a 4.8, it's not your laptop, it's Halo 2. The PC port is buggy and unoptimized beyond belief.

If you're willing to pay a bit more, maintain the rig, and are willing to compromise on graphical detail, its doable. I've had my laptop for 3 years now and it cost me around $1800 initially. In fact, I could have gotten it at the time for a bit less. Right now, it can still run most new games very smoothly as long as I don't crank it up to 1600x1280 or whatever. The only downside is the hard drive only gets 5400rpm, I think this explains my long loading times.

Operation Optimization. Then turn down all the graphics detail, especially the textures, tree distance, and grass distance. My computer gets an okay framerate with a 3.3 on the MS WEI

I use OO, haven't tried Streamline.

Assuming because a pc/laptop is 'new' it can play games /facepalm

OT: Your processor isn't great by any means but its borderline, however, if its coupled with a kack graphics card, you can forget playing anything 'nice to look at'.

What graphics card do you have, my friend? Other than that, do what the others said. Turn everything to low and gradually turn everything up until it starts to slow again, then that's the limit at which you can run Oblivion. It's a great game, and you deserve to play it.

Ta da!
