Not really, they are still more expensive than computers, but even in Australia you can pick up an awesome gaming laptop cheapish. This link is for a US site I think and is a good example of an awsome laptop for under $2k.Hopeless Bastard said:Its the fact you're trying to play it on a laptop thats more than two years old and didn't cost $6000 at the time of purchase.

You know you can build a good PC for about 500-600 dollars nowadays right? My apologies if it was sarcasm.Hopeless Bastard said:Its the fact you're trying to play it on a laptop thats more than two years old and didn't cost $6000 at the time of purchase.

My Asus G1S pulls a 4.8, it's not your laptop, it's Halo 2. The PC port is buggy and unoptimized beyond belief.mmmurple said:My VAIO gets a 4.9 on the system rating, yet it struggles with Halo 2.
If you want to play any games that came out in the last few years you should invest in a desktop.
If you're willing to pay a bit more, maintain the rig, and are willing to compromise on graphical detail, its doable. I've had my laptop for 3 years now and it cost me around $1800 initially. In fact, I could have gotten it at the time for a bit less. Right now, it can still run most new games very smoothly as long as I don't crank it up to 1600x1280 or whatever. The only downside is the hard drive only gets 5400rpm, I think this explains my long loading times.Hopeless Bastard said:Laptops are worthless for gaming.
that isn't necessarily true, i have a 2 year old laptop, i payed 900 euro's for it, and i can run games like oblivion, fallout 3, bioshock 2 on medium/high settingsHopeless Bastard said:Its the fact you're trying to play it on a laptop thats more than two years old and didn't cost $6000 at the time of purchase.
