Hello everyone I am new to the Escapist and hope to do a weekly review on games. Right now the budget is tight so we will see how it goes...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Numeric Rating:6.5 out of 10
Big Downers: Map Travel, Poor Story, Glitchy in areas.
Big Uppers: Expansive world, Lots of quests be it side or main, Plenty of things to do with "Mods"

In TESIV Oblivion you begin as a prisoner wasting away in the imperial Jail your crimes are unknown to you...So make them up. It is not far after customizing your character that you meet the emperor Uriel Septim VII he is on the run from assassins hunting him who have apparently already killed his sons. The catch is his secret escape is through...you guessed it your cell. So you then follow the emperor...oh never fucking mind the story is shit anyway. You know I would have thought that number 4 in the series would have been perfect well I was WRONG! this game while good has 3 key problems we will discuss them in detail
1.Map travel
this just sounds bad. In an RPG with a world as large as Oblivion why do you have map travel? It's because the levels are the same save the occasional fallen tree or snow but how many times can you go up a hill before you are bored this expadites the process by letting you go to the action. but if you are a hardcore gamer you walked everywhere for awhile till you realized that it was all the same then used map travel to jump from place to place realizing only each city was truly unique.

2.Poor Story
Enough said it was a load of shit from go. as you have seen we didn't even get to the first fight before I was fed up. So here I say the story was too long and pointless because all you got in the end was EXP and armor not even the emperor.

3.Glitchy
A game worked on this hard shouldnt be glitchy but it was. I have rn through buildings the "level zero" problem still exists etc. bethesdea seems to want to make a good game but they just don't try.

now for the good points.

1.Expansive world
DOn't get me wrong I dislike it being the same all over not for being expansive I want games that when I look at the map and see where I have been I wanna be wowed by the sheer travel I have done...Except map travel prevented this...I digress

2.Quests quests quests
I love them all gamers with a taste for rpgs do there what make it fun and it seems like here oblivion is a goody bag that never ends....I rest this case

3."mods"
this is possibly the one thing I love about this game.
with the possibilites never ending as it is now there letting you make more...WOW I said as I took A bite out of a shit cake and found this particular bite to be delicious. This is what kept me from returning the game that and the power to play god with a simple strike of the ~ key.

that is about it

Your points are all valid, though you need to add a lot more detail (2 sentences on the story? That's it?). Also, type your review in word first, to catch your mistakes. The last thing I would suggest modifying is the structure of the review. Rather than try to explain it, I'll just show you what the review should look like.

P.S. You'll notice I italicized the word review every time it appeared. Check it's spelling.

Things that need to be corrected:

-Punctuation
- Missing details
-Grammar

You need to expand your futur reviews.

Did you wrote this on the Escapist site, or did you use Microsoft Word then copy pasted?

Poor spelling and grammar aside, you need to expand your points like a mother fucker. saying "Enough said it was a load of shit from go. as you have seen we didn't even get to the first fight before I was fed up. So here I say the story was too long and pointless because all you got in the end was EXP and armor not even the emperor." As your entire point about the story will get you nowhere fast as a reviewer, not to mention the last fourteen or so words made about as much sense as a cat playing base-ball.

The best advice I can give you is to read other peoples reviews that have garnered high praise, and see what you can learn from them. If you think something is good/sucks, you can't just say that. You need to explain why you think that way as well.
