Obsesive games

Every now and again i get into a phase where I only play one game non stop for every waking moment playing that game. The last game was Patapon (which i couldn't stop playing for a week) until i got to a point where it became infuriatingly hard and the need to play it seems to dissapear (only for a while though because that game is awesome).

What i want to know is what is the latest obsesive game that anyone has played?

I have to be honest and say im really mad at myself cos i did it with fallout 3

I have been looking forward to it for so so long that when i got it i just played it and played it.... i didnt sleep i just played... then i completed it and i am so glad i played a good character cos im now taking my time a little more with an evil character, enjoying the game how i shoulda the first time

The last game I honestly remember getting completely obsessed with was Crackdown, and I can actually still play it every so often. It's just that good.

my freind has it and i couldn't stop playing it

The last game i was completely obsessed with would have to be BioShock, I played it over and over again just to get all the recording, secret stuff, tonics, and achievements.

I would REALLY like to be obsessed with Left 4 dead

Hmmm... That could be almost an entire new thread. Which game do you wish you had become obsessed with? I would definitely have to say Neverwinter Nights 2. Loved the first one, really liked Obsidian's earlier game, KOTOR 2 (despite its flaws), and was really looking for a great new RPG experience. Oh, well.

rainbow 6 vegas 2, as kind-of-dumb as that sounds. i just really wanted to beat all of the terrorist hunt missions on realistic difficulty. that was fucking hard. before that i think i have to go all the way to morrowind on pc

MGS4 until I beat it so it wasn't a long obsession.
In fact that happens fairly often with good relatively short games. I'll get a game and play it obsessively until I beat it.

I think everybody does that, it's part of being a gamer.

The last game I was obsessed about was Dreamfall. All I could think about when I was at work was playing the game, and when I got home I actually skipped dinner so I could play the game. I completed it in three days, but it was a great three days.

I used to rape Soul Calibur 2 on GC - I had like every single weapon/costume for everybody.

(No XBL for me, so games can get boring pretty quickly)
Recently, the first was bioshock. Great game, story, atmosphere.. I couldn't drop it until the end. After that, it lost almost everything.
Then I started playing Oblivion for quite a while, but it eventually boiled down to simply dungeon crawling and petty side quests.
Afterwards, I moved on to Gears of War. I had fun with it, playing through on easy with my sister. Then I played a solo run on Hardcore and had even more fun. Then I got to insane, played for about an hour, and shut off the xbox before I did any (rage inflicted) damage.
Now I'm just playing rock band and guitar hero every once in a while.

The last one was S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl, I kind of older game but I just found it a few days ago. I was so obsessed with it, that I skipped a lot of the game and got a really crappy ending.

Red Alert 2. Oh god I played that so much when I was younger. Now I find that communism = awesome.
