It seems irrational, even to you, but you do it anyway. like you can't control the urge.
My Examples:
In final fantasy games, I cant stop collecting powerful healing items, like X-potions. I would spend hours collecting them, and I would never, EVER use them. I would have collected 99 and I wouldn't use a single one, even if I knew I would die if I didn't, not even during end bosses, I would rather die than use my precious healing items! (stupid)
Also, in Assassins Creed 2 I cant help but pick up the dead body of a random innocent I accidentally(or purposely) killed, carry them to the nearest body of water, stand in silence for about a minute and then drop them in. Then I stand in silence for 2 more minutes while I feel bad, then I leave to go back to my normal routine of killing guards mercilessly and harassing the general pubic.
