It's not technically illegal is it? I found it hilarious. They look ridiculous, and they make the law look ridiculous.

The first one and the third one, to answer your questions. Very, very much the third one.

I just found that so nutty, it was hard to take seriously.

Meanwhile, in DC, the cops occupied the occupiers' tents so that the they are now left in the freezing cold. I doubt that the DC police would've been as amused.

Pure genius by these aussies, pure genius.

USTREAM link for Occupy DC, if anyone is interested:http://www.ustream.tv/channel/occupywashdc#utm_campaign=t.co&utm_source=9730881&utm_medium=social

That. Is. FANTASTIC!

Haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
Made my day, thank you :D

Edit: Although, I do think they took it a little far when they started following the police back to their cars...

Democracy at its finest I say. People need to have fun, even when protesting :3

Wow, what a bunch of smug arseholes. Apparently they decided to give up on the whole proper protest or debate thing, or any kind of political revelance what-so-ever and just decided to flap around like a bunch of idiots. They're not 'scoring one for democracy'. They're not claiming a victory over 'fascists'. They just decided to make the lives of some police officers that little bit more miserable. Because fuck da' police, yeah? The officers actually start walking away, realising the whole things a waste of time but the 'protesters' can't just leave it at that, can they?

Honestly, I'd be fine with it as just a bit of fun they weren't being such a load of pricks. Drop the whole "Ho-ho, we have outwitted the cruel forces of capitalism" schtick then yeah, fine. But the self-righteous bullshit, those cat-calls... Ugh. Trust me, if those police officers wanted to arrest them, I'm pretty sure they would and could do a pretty good job of making their lives miserable within the limits of the law. Harrasing a police officer is probably an offence, but they probably don't care enough to be bothered. I bet they'd be more interested in doing something worthwhile during their tax-paid working hours, but noooo, they've got to babysit a bunch of idiots who think that dressing up as a tent is a valid form of political demonstration.

It started out funny, but eventually it just became obnoxious. Why are they trying so hard to piss the cops off? They're just doing their jobs. THEY aren't the ones who passed the damn law.

Funny idea, pathetic implementation.

Am I the only person who wanted that ginger girl to get punched in her smug face by the end?

This seems like something Solid Snake would do if he was catching up on sleep between hilarious codec calls and throat-slitting.

Yep, lots of democracy being saved there...
This. The entire occupy thing reeks of mindless drones and overgrown children that are throwing a hissy fit. I simply can't stand it. Most --keyword here being most -- occupiers make the normal 99% look awful. I wish they'd be more political about trying to change things, instead of embarrassing the normal population.
What would you have them do? The vast majority of government officials have taken heavy contributions from the very people these people are protesting. It's to the point that it's almost impossible to get elected without taking all that money because if you don't, your opponent will and will dominate the air waves.

What political coarse of action do you take when your government is bought and paid for?

I'm not being snide or sarcastic. I'd really like to know.

The Occupy protests in Australia are pretty pointless anyway, it is just a handful of full time activists that are taking part, they will eventually move on when something else comes up. The major moving point behind the protests is the dominance of corporations in politics and income inequality, neither of these are problems in Australia.
I was thinking that. This is, primarily, and American problem isn't it? Because I dream of getting the hell out of this country and I'd like to take stock of which countries would be a good place to move to.
