Odd Gaming Habits

I've met and talked to people who have had some interesting habits when playing games, and I always find them interesting. I always like learning about those types of things, so I'm wanting to know what you Escapists do you when you're playing games.

One of my (really weird) habits, is when I'm playing a WRPG, I will actually converse with the NPCs, with my own voice. Like when I meet people in Elder scrolls or Fallout games, I'll actually read what my character says as if I were regularly talking. I suppose I feel it immerses me further into the gameplay. This could also be because I play a lot of tabletop rpgs where I actually HAVE to say what my character says.

I can't play on the PS3 if i don't sit in my certain "playing on the ps3" way.
Its just me sitting way back in my chair balancing it on its rear legs with my feet up on the table but for some reason i cannot play and be comfortable without. I also always open the window i tiny bit before i game, just a habit i guess but if i dont do these things everything just feels so wrong.

I always turn off the vibration on my controller. It's strange to me how other people think it's strange to do that.

I have to talk myself through things if i'm playing a multiplayer game that requires a degree of concentration. So UMVC3 and LoL for example.

Though UMVC3 devolves into "WHY IS WESKER SO BROKEN?!" and LoL is fine until I end up fighting a Teemo... Everyone fucking hates Teemo.

"Fuck you Teemo X20"

"ARGHH FUCKING SHROOMS!"

[sub]I swear he's going for a lvl 1 invisible gank, better miss all this starting farm in paranoia[/sub]

It's obviously better and less crazy if i've got friends in the game with me over Skype.

I don't talk if I have my music on though, so that's different.

Even when I'm alone I talk back at the characters or do commentary of what I'm doing as if I'm doing a lets play.

For some reason, I kind of hold my mouth open and stop breathing when I'm in a gun fight in Battlefield three, and I'll often do odd motions with my tongue and my jaw... Weird, but hey. It's interesting.

I must reload my gun after every single kill, more often than not I will have only fired a couple bullets and I know there are more enemies but before I can even think about it I'm reloading...

This is especially awkward when it's a light machinegun i'm using and I will literally reload because it says 99 instead of 100.

Eeesh... I'm with you on that one... If it was real the squadmates would all be thinking: how many clips do you pack, dude?!

As in slowly and keep your head tilted or sway from side to side? If the former, what on earth for, if the latter... for the rhythm?!

OT: If something happens that surprises me or shouldn't happen as dictated by my masterplan (!), I'll jerk my head back. There also tends to be a lot of gesticulating at the screen, usually at pot-shotting idiots I've just killed or a boss unit I've obliterated in an RTS/TW game. Also, random utterances like 'eebi-deebi-eebi' etc. while roaming around any kind of open world map. -_-

Thats not too odd either, a lot of people I know do that. I currently have 30 max revives on Pokemon White, because I have never used one. Now that I have like 30 EV trained Lv 100's I won't need to use them ever again, either.

I can't think of any that'd be too odd, perhaps trying to role play in galactic civilizations, although that might just be to give me an excuse to commit terrible atrocities on other civilizations. 'I know the terror star is awful from a Cost to Effectiveness point of view, but my civ's religion requires me to use it on every star in the galaxy that I don't control.'

Whenever playing pokemon I mash the B button hoping that it helps (does it even do anything?).
And I pause whatever game I'm playing when someone walks in even if its a multiplayer match.

Ever since CoD2 whenever I use a sniper rifle I always breathe in to take my shots and breathe out when I unscope & reload.

When I'm driving vehicles and being shot at I tend to lean in the direction that I want to go.

In RPGs I hoard all the items. 50 Megalixirs, 200 stimpacks, 200 Rad-X. You name it I keep it. Safely hidden away within the confines of my inventory or home, never to enter a situation where it might actually become useful. It just sits there. I keep all of my previous weapons too, ever since Ipsen's Castle in FFIX where your weakest weapons become your strongest.

I talk to everyone in an RPG. EVERYONE. This is especially bad in RPGs where NPCs might change that one phrase that they have after a certain event. I never got too far in FFXII because after ever plot event, I ran around the town talking to every single person to see how their dialogue changed, and obviously that tired me out and I stopped playing the game.

Whenever I play Street Fighter, I hold my breath during matches, and breathe during the victory-poses. My fiancée pointed this out to me, I hadn't even thought about it before she said it. Yet, even now when I play, I can't breathe. If I focus on breathing, my skills go down the drain. I must have a simple mind, since I can't play Street Fighter and breathe at the same time. >_<

These all apply to me, but I have gotten better about reloading after every kill.

When playing a Legend of Zelda game, I pretty much always whistle the theme of whatever area I'm in. Oddly enough, I only do this in Zelda games.

In shooters like Call Of Duty and Gears Of War, after some reloading-any-chance-you-get shenanigans, I'll waste ammo to get an exact number of magazines.

Example: Gears of War, Lancer, ammo 443. Fire until I get 420 = 7 full mags, and for a while I won't reload unless I'm empty.

I need to keep my gold (or whatever other currency there is) and other numbers (like ammo and such) at even numbers, or well, 5-10-15-20 and up.

If I have more or less than that I throw stuff away or sell it.
Then again this isn't really just in games I do that.
