Anymee, hey...new Oddworld game due this year! The eponymous 'Soulstorm'... A retelling of the 1998 sequel that is supposed to be a far darker tale than usual. The base story is to do with a desert drink known as 'Soulstorm' that is made from the bones of the enslaved society inhabiting the landscape.

Is anybody else vaguely interested in this upcoming title? Any fond memories of Abe and friends even in the previous New 'n Tasty title?

New 'n Tasty was kinda not good, so if this remake of Exoddus is handled by the same team I'm gonna be skipping it.

I loved Oddworld, way back when it was stepping into the limelight with all its promise. Then, things went wrong. Years later, they're more-or-less chasing the coattails of their old success. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them making games, but it would've been alot better years ago.

Yeah, the original 2 games were amazing, and Oddysee was the reason I begged for a ps1 for christmas that year. Everything that came after went downhill fast and they never recovered. New'n Tasty was a woeful remake that basically ruined the gorgeous backgrounds and visuals of Oddworld with overdone lighting blooms and weird camera angles that fucked up the basic platforming and puzzle solving, had terribly re-done voice acting and music that drowned out said vocals. It was a mess.

If anything I love Exodus even more than Oddysee so I'm not optimistic of them doing the job right this time, especially if they're going to completely remake the plot and who knows what else. I still have the originals version on my ps3, if I want to play them I will do so. They're better than whatever crap they're churning out currently so why should I pay more money for inferior quality?
