Oh dear, it appears as if IW shot themselves (again).

Apparently, P2P connections for MW2 online play are breaching the contracts of many different Internet Service Providers for "running servers on their home connection" and "excessive file sharing through peer to peer connections." source

It seems that IW and Activision may be required to change the way their multiplayer servers are handled.

Thoughts?

Dedicated servers back on the cards, perhaps? Unlikely, but if enough people start pressuring them then IW and Activision may well be forced to finally bow down to the gamers and brink back dedicated servers. If any sort of consumer action starts now, petitions and the like, then remember, I called it first right here, people :D.

Who would require them to do that? I mean they already have oogles of piles of money, they don't care at this point. Dedi servers would not make them any more money so whats their incentive to do it? They have already proven they don't care about the player base.

Thoughts? Don't really care, don't play the game

However, this might force them to switch back to dedicated servers. Which is better for the community.
