ohh Machinma.. Why

I hate to be one to say bad things about anyone but it seems Machinima and most of it's content is either immature and not even remotely funny, or just full of the manchild antics of Seananners and Hutch. All I see they ever post Is either Minecraft(Don't get me wrong Minecraft is good and all but after a while it just gets to be too much) or BLACK OPS or some other mainstream game. I find it really hard to believe gaming has gone this direction, and I am afraid it will keep getting worse. Does anyone else fear the way gaming is heading?

Wait, so most content created by amateurs within video games sucks (as does most amateur video content outside of machinima), so you're scared of the way video gaming is heading? I'm sorry, that doesn't make any sense.

Also, good machinima does exist, you're just getting hung op on Sturgeon's Law. Check out Red vs. Blue for the most mainstream example, but there are others as well. I'd like to think the one I made a while back, Pretium Vita, counts among them as well. The Strangerhood was alright too, and some of Blood Signature Films' stuff (Especially Desolate and Jonathan Quail) is really good as well.

most of machinima's recent videos aren't those though. its mostly etc, inside gaming, and random games (I just checked and saw WWE, NFS, and counter strike. if you mean machinima respawn, then yes, they do have quite a bit of cod and minecraft gameplay, but you have to realize that they are a business which is paid on views, so whatever gets the most views (cod and mc right now) are going to be posted the most. however, respawn also posts other stuff too, like twisted shadow planet, assassins creed, and tf2. finally, as the youtube saying goes, "dont like it dont watch it" or you could always unsubscribe. please dont feel like this is a personal attack, im just defending machinima and its other channels, which i happen to enjoy.

I don't fear the future of gaming, but being annoyed at the content Machinima uploads is perfectly normal. On my end anyway, all I see is constant Black Ops related garbage, and the occasional Minecraft video from Realm. I was sort of hoping at some point that being subscribed to Machinima would mean a constant flow of interesting videos, as it turns out that isn't the case. Plus, there's always the obscure commentator trying too hard, the nervous upstart, and the people that waste our time and theirs making stupid videos where they record footage of them playing a game just to add their own voices and use the characters as dolls in some bullshit play I don't care about, and if you still have no idea what I mean, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHOs-_owPk8&feature=channel_video_title)

I like to think Freeman's Mind is good, along with Arby 'N the Chief. The latter, while immature, the main character himself is a living (well, not living per se, never mind) parody of the makeup of Xbox Live's clientele, being childish, immature, slur-spouting douchebags.

But hey, that's all IMHO. I advise you to at least watch a couple of episodes of those shows, and if you already have, then please, just disregard my advice.

All of it is mostly black ops related, some tf2 vids but not enough. Anybody can be remotley good at call of Duty (Hell, my last match was 31 kills, 4 deaths. Lucky round)and it doesn't take that much practice either. Minecraft just takes patience, not skill. But hey, when cash is involved and based on views, Minecraft and Black Ops are probably the best thing for a quick buck.

pretty much every time I watch something Machinima produces I facepalm halfway through the video and flip to something else. Before I unsubbed to them, it'd gotten to the point where on the rare occasion that someone posted something good, I asked why they would be stupid enough to post it on Machinima. The only consistently good things are Freeman's mind and Sanity not Included. Since Sanity not Included is gone for the summer, and the creators of Freeman's mind only post something about once a century, there isn't a reason for me to keep going.

Bottom line: every time I see something of Machinima, I ask the question that's in your thread title aloud to myself.

Also, what the hell is that thing on the left? It's actually really cool, but that symbol's not on my keyboard...

Machinima appeals to a different demographic, their videos entertain recreational household players, they aren't meant to be really artsy and enlightening.
