This problem started a few hours ago, when ever I try to connect to XBL I get a message saying I need to download an update to connect to XBL. The problem is after i'm done downloading it my 360 restarts and I get another message saying I need to download an update to connect to XBL when I say yes to download the update my 360 restarts and I says I need to redownload the update again. This has happend 4 times now, I turned of my 360, restarted it, restarted my router and nothing seems to work. Has anyone had any trouble like this? Any help would be amazing.

Call customer support? You do have free space right? Xbox forums would probably be a good thing to check too.

Sell Xbox 360 and buy a Playstatio
Kill your Family and move to Mexico

I'd check Xbox's forums if they have any.

You point out that only a single person has tried to help. The reason is there isn't much else to say. I'm guessing they covered what everyone else would say. All I would say is make sure you have the memory, if not, customer support, just like Sober Thal said.

Looks familiar, I could have sworn I know who you are....

Not Lain, not ..... who..... I think you're....

WHO IS YOUR AVATAR?!?!?!

I'm sure I'll face palm when you tell me, but I have to ask.
Not a problem, my avatar is Yuki Nagato from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

I have heard so much good about that show... it's a shame I can't make myself watch it.
Why not, it's a great show. It helps to watch in chronological order though, it makes a lot more sense that way.

This was supposed to happen to people who played Kinect games before their street date. As in, exactly what you're describing. Either that, or your update didn't download properly (corrupt installer or something like that). If the latter is the case, you can clear it's cache with a button combination:

Clearing Xbox 360 Cache.

Clearing the cache on the Xbox 360 is a simple process, and can be useful if the system seems sluggish, unresponsive, or you just need to get rid of a game update.

The most important part of clearing the cache is knowing what to expect. All downloaded game updates will be removed. So if you have downloaded an auto-update for a game, in order to play it on Xbox Live you will need to re-download it.

User game saves, profiles, demos, videos, etc. are not deleted during the process.

To clear the cache on the Xbox 360 do the following:

* Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System, and then select Memory.
* Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.
* Press these in the following order. X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X. (X,X,LB,RB,X,X)

You will see a confirmation message to confirm system maintenance, proceed.
HOWEVER: If your 360 isn't starting (in which case the above is useless), you can hold down the 'sync' button (next to the memory card ports, the button you use to sync your wireless controllers) during its startup process. That will also clear the cache. I actually got an older 360 working this way after a failed update last year.
