Yep. Straight-up, if this gets signed into law by the governor (who, for the record, has said he will sign any anti-abortion bill, because fuck you), abortions will be flat-out illegal unless performed to save the life of the mother. Any other abortions will result in the doctor facing felony charges, with a potential punishment of 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. But don't worry, that's to punish the doctor, not the woman, in the words of state representative Jim Olsen.

We knew this was coming, it was just going to be a matter of what state would stop trying to find an arbitrary X weeks deadline and just flat-out say "No abortions unless deemed medically necessary".

After which it won't be long before there will be anti-abortion bills saying no exceptions whatsoever.

On an incredibly cyncial note, now would be a very good time to invest in mifepristone and misoprostol(aka the abortion pill). Cause I guarantee those are gonna start getting more popular in certain states and yes, they can be mail ordered.

It would not suprise me that many of these lawmaker already own a lot of stocks related to those pills. It wouldn't suprise me to find out that that's the whole point of these laws

I don't get how people can vote for such people anno 2022...
Check any news site with comments and you'll see plenty of people cheering that they're "saving all these babies" by forcing people to give birth.

This shit is a feature, not a bug to a large number of voters
