I'm 29 years old, and being a child of the 80's and still very much in touch with my inner child, i've been taking a trip down memory lain and started to collect all my childhood cartoons!

I've got Tailspin. Beast Wars, Dinosaurs (NOT THE MAMA Dinosaurs) on DVD, and a few random series of assorted episodes on VHS... but that's the problem! VHS players are not only harder to find, the technology is falling behind and becoming less and less compatible. While I do have a HDTV and a PS3 i realize that not EVERYTHING can be released in blu ray. But they can at least release them on DVD!

So what is it?! What shows did you grow up on that you wish were released on DVD but aren't!

For me... right now. It's Dino Riders.

And the REAL one guys and galls, not the vhs ripped to dvd... your not going to get the digitally remastered quality.

It's all about the Google, eh?
Its not an official release! Someone transferred the old VHS to dvd. They aren't remastered or anything! Kinda going for a official thing, if thats the case, i'll just download it! Why give 20 bucks to some jack off who's not even connected to the original creators.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea! I want it very, very badly!

The only two I can think of are Kim Possible, the entire series, and Sailor Moon. Yes, I know the second one came out, but I was still young, didn't have a job, and therefore couldn't buy it. Now that I do have a job, the U.S. doesn't have anyone here that holds the rights to it, therefore no DVDs.

Oh. And just about every Nick Toon made back in the 90s. Rugrats, Doug, Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers...the list goes on. Oh! And Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Thankfully though, that one's back on T.V.

That was actually released here in Norway some years back (It was mega popular here back in the day).

Was released in the original French with Norwegian subtitles though :p

Yeah, France got a nice DVD set, too. In the US, we got nothing. I'd be perfectly happy with subtitled French.

As far as I know the English language version was edited differently from the original, which is probably why it never got released.

Also it never was as big over there I think.

It barely had a full season but I miss Greg the Bunny. Why are there so few muppet + people shows on!?

I also wish Clone High was available on DVD.

The Alvin and the Chipmunks Show. From what I hear, barring paying for your own TV channel to get it in syndication, there's no way to get the whole thing. If it weren't for people recording it WHILE it was in syndication, there'd be almost none of it. I hate having unfinished collections, but this one looks impossible for now (unless I were to take drastic measures, I assume).

Beast Wars has been officially released on DVD -- they're currently advertising it on The Hub. On the other hand, I would love Talespin and Dinosaurs to get a full DVD release. As for one you haven't mentioned, I want the 90's version of Land of the Lost to get a DVD release. That was my favorite show during the year or two that it was on the air, but they've only released the 70's one, not the 90's one -- a shame, since both could have easily been released with the movie.

... I've got Tailspin and Beast wars and Dinosaurs... and beast wars... the original releases, the ones that are selling for like $80.00.

And from what i understand, Tailspin and Dinosaurs both have every episode on DVD.

Ah, I misunderstood the post. Last I checked, Tailspin didn't have a complete DVD release, to the point that all of the episodes I've seen floating around the internet are rips from VHS or DVR recordings. As for Dinosaurs, well, I've never seen a copy for sale, but I guess it might be out there somewhere. You might want to edit your OP, though; it read like you had all of them, but only on VHS.
