Older console-only games you'd like to see on Steam?

There have been a number of damn good games that have never seen the light of day on PC. Any that you doods wish would be accessible to the PC Master Race?

To start, I remember hearing SEGA saying a while back that they would like to put more of their back catalog on Steam. While not much has come of that since, assuming the stars align, I'd wish for the likes of Resonance of Fate to get new life, and a new audience, on Steam.

I could also say Shenmue, though, honestly, if they have any business sense, they'll release the first two before the third one's PC release to build the fanbase beforehand (like how Capcom is releasing Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 on Steam before MVC Infinite comes out, presumably, for the same reason).

I would also hope they eventually bring the Evolution duology to Steam, always wanted to play those, but never had a Dreamcast (and don't say Evolution Worlds, that's just an combination of the two that's also an abridged version)

I want to see all the classics on PC legally, to reach more people and make them easier to preserve in general. A good port of course, those fucking cheap asses.

All?

I will stick to reasonable choices (ie, not First Party Nintendo or Halo)

All Dynasty Warriors (and related), but preferably after Koei figures out how porting to PC works.

All Kingdom Under Fire games, especially Circle of Doom.

All the .hack games.

Mystical Ninja starring Goemon, cause I want to play it more and want others to play it.

I really want to see a lot of PS2 games pop up on PC, and it's not entirely far-fetched as I do recall seeing several XBOX games pop up on Steam, many several years after their release such as Sudeki and Enclave, but they may have been on PC before just not in Steam.

Some of the ones I'd love to see are all of the PS2 Level-5 Games:

Dark Cloud
Dark Cloud 2 (Dark Chronicle for EU)
Rogue Galaxy
Dragon Quest VIII

I'd love to see Final Fantasy XII get a port to PC as it stands now it's the ONLY Final Fantasy game in the main series with the exception of XV that is NOT on PC, it also happens to be my favorite Final Fantasy and I'm a PC Gamer... d'oh! It's possible we may see the enhanced remaster on PC after a timed exclusive period though!

Would also like the Snowblind Hack n Slash RPGs: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath, and their sequels to come out on PC, they are still some of my favorites of that genre.

Beyond that... Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction would be awesome to see as a PC game.

While understandably many will want earlier titles on Steam or some PC platform, they are considerably easier to manage. Nintendo and Sony both have quality emulation in their PSN and Virtual Console, and there's no real need to do any masterful programming tricks to get this kind of emulation (legally) to happen on PC should the owners of those games wish to port those over. The sixth generation of gaming consoles however is more tricky, this is your Gamecube, Playstation 2, and XBOX era, which is a generation past where reliable emulation can be done to port games, and a generation before when games started becoming more and more cross platform with the PC, so there's a much greater cry I believe to preserve and port those games to PC as it actually does require someone to go in and update engines and coding to work right.

I'd rather them be on GoG so we don't have to put up with Valve's DRM service but I'd love to see the full Shining Force 3 trilogy make it to the PC. Parts two and three have never been officially translated to English.

Not counting first-party or third-party exclusives, I'd love a PC version of The Darkness. The second one is on PC as well and they're both published by 2K Games, so I'm not sure why they didn't port the game back then.
I also really want Red Dead Redemption. Guess there's still a chance with the second one on the way.

It all should be recorded and available. Yes, even the bad ones. Especially the bad ones. History should not be tossed away with each generation, this goes for all of life. Are bad films just forgotten and not available when a new format is introduced? We need it all! For the records!!

I think as long as the game was a legitimate attempt at...something.

The shovelware can suck a fat one, but otherwise, plenty of games that while bad, Im sure someone would want. And hell, if ET was put on Steam, Id buy it and play it just to experience it.

Well, let me think here...

I see someone above already mentioned Playground of Destruction, that's a damn good choice. I've played it to hell and back on my PS2, and I'm pretty sure it was also on the old XBox as well, but porting it to PC would be nice.

I know someone above said "No Nintendo", but Nintendo neither developed nor published the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron games, and the first is already on Steam as Rogue Squadron 3D. What I'd want is Rebel Strike, minus the ground levels. Online multiplayer Star Wars dogfights, plus online co-op through the missions of Rogue Leader? HELL YEAH!

We also need to see a resurgence of the old-school arcade racer. You know the kind, like the old San Francisco Rush or Ridge Racer or Hydro Thunder or whatnot. A racing game that embraces the purity of speed and chooses to go over-the-top to be as exciting as possible, while stripping away all the weapons to be all about who's the better driver. If any of those kinds of games could be ported to Steam, I'd like to see it done.

If you mean me about the "No Nintendo" thing, I meant first party, ie Mario, Zelda, Pokemon. I did not mean games on Nintendo consoles, cause there are plenty of non Nintendo IP games on Nintendo consoles that I hope every day to find added to Steam.

Well there's a lot of difference between old console releases and modern day steam shovelware. Even modern day console titles have to have some form or quality control (recent stuff with US PSN store not withstanding). That old stuff needed material production without easily available online assets. Failed or not, effort was expelled and vetted into solid form. Archives! We need them!

Most of the "back catalogue" they've put on Steam has been MD ROMs. Though to be fair, there are collections and they only charge about $4 for them individually.

OT: I'd love to see the Xbox 360 versions of Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie and Perfect Dark make the jump, along with ports of Conker's BFD and Kameo (a game that I haven't played, but it's definitely the most interesting thing Rare's made in last 16-odd years).

And given that it's nearly seven cunting years old, I think it's reasonable to add Red Dead Redemption onto that list.

Why stop there?, another wish of mine if that they release the entirety of Rare Replay onto the Windows Store.

I want to see some of the Halo games on Steam Without Windows version restriction bullshit or mandatory sign-ins to another service.

As campaign games they're pretty fun.
