Yeah it is and I don?t care, right now as I type this, I'm in my science class doing 'research' on the 2012 'theories' for an opinion paper, so, I?m going to ask you guys, what are the stupid pointless or down right stupid theories or websites you've seen or heard?

Links would be nice. I can?t wait to blow up some of the more retarded theories.

I would have to say any plot involving alien overlords

A long time ago, before the dawn of the dinosaurs, the Earth was void of sentient life. All of the world was full of flora, it was a glorious Utopia, unspoiled by creatures. by chance, a species from another world stumbled upon it. They saw its beauty, and made a decision. You see, these beings were scientists of the highest calibur. they decided to take a small piece of their themselves, and launch it onto the planet. During the process the piece broke apart into countless microscopic pieces. These pieces mutated and multiplied into countless species, and so life began. In the year 2012, on the day of December 31st, when it becomes 11:59 pm in a small town in Nebraska, the aliens will return to observe our progress. we have until then to ensure that they decided we are worthy of life, or they will release a virus that will kill all life.

I'd have to say religion (and the people who worship- at least the die hard ones), since they base their beliefs on old scrolls, that is more likely than not pure fiction, and is usually not even a good read, by most standards.

OT: that MYTHICAL creatures are real... seriously, its daft arguing that point seen as though its proven in the name to be mythical =S, although i do believe that their are creatures out their that haven't been discovered, and i do believe in big foot and the loch-ness monster and that shit. (when i say mythical, i mean cyclopses and Minotors and pretty unicorns)

and i'd have to what another guy said about 9/11 being an inside job, seriously =S the human mind scares me...

All of the good little (christian) believers will go up to heaven, sans clothing.
And all of the sinners and non believers will witness a 7 year war between heaven and hell... and if that's true, I am so ready for it... because a fight like that would be AWESOME!

I doubt anything is going to happen, but if something does I'm calling it now: aliens! Either that or an ancient order of templars launching a satellite into space that will control the minds of everyone on Earth via an ancient artifact, if Ubisoft is to be believed.

The population of whiny teenagers will reach a critical mass and tip the balance of the collective unconscious, leading to the entire worlds population simultaneously attempting su-wah-cide to get attention.
