I recently as in today did a 540. Not as awesome or inverted as you may see on youtube or tv but I did one nonetheless. So it got me thinking. How many of y'all out there can do an athletic trick(s)? And wats ur goal? For me, my goal is to do a flash kick and a hyper twist ^^

Yes, I have gotten close to the foot thing and feared what might happen if I decided to go through with it and succeed.

And that crab thing - that one you've amazed me with.

OT: I'm pretty athletic in the sport of Extreme Respiratory Success. I am an avid connoisseur of the art of breathing that is. Most of us are fairly good at it in the amateur league, but I have won medals for my skills at breathing.

Disregard the first part of this, OP was referring to another type of 540
For those of you not in the know:
*ehem*
The 540 is a complete circle (360) with the addition of another 180 degree turn (half circle)
360 + 180 = 540

I only learned to 360 some two months ago, so you'll have to give me time to catch up.
Granted, I skate street, so I'm more fond of fakie/flip tricks. ;)

Still trying to get those damn tre's down >_>

I'm trying to learn how to do the double cork while snowboarding, but I'm too lazy to put any effort into it.

Sorry if this comes across as rude, but i have no idea what the fuck you are talking about, can you explain what a 540 is?
You pretty much jump and spin 540 degrees...

180, 360, 540, 720, 900, 1080 ect...
The most I've done is a 720...

Skateboarding eh, back in my youthful days the best trick I could do was falling on my ass and desperately trying again.

Personally I've always preferred partaking in nice quite activities that don't result in broken bones if you (And you will) cock it up.

I can make a discus land so it rolls further than I threw it.
Not difficult considering I can't throw it that far, but I'm proud of it all the same.

I backflipped off-stage during a gig. Found out that night I did some serious damage to my ankle. I blame Jack Daniel (our bassist).

ermmmm....

does juggling count as athletic?

You'd be surprised at how physically tough it is you know!

If juggling does count, then (combining all the types of juggling I do [that includes stuff which you don't throw things into the air, like diabolo, etc]) I know... erm...

I dunno, 40-50 tricks?

Incorrect.

Because OP mentioned Flash Kick and Hyper Twist, its safe to assume he is talking about Tricking, rather than skateboarding.

I used to be into it but I wasn't any good, and it was always way to hot for me to train. I could do a few flashy stuff when I did Taekwon do, but not anymore.

Well played, Clerks...

...Well played...

Thanks for clearing that up, though.

When I read the thread title I was prepared to retort with my 9th grade SAT performance.

One of my goals is to be good with computers and get a computer repair job in high school instead of flipping burgers. More short-term, to get my conditional license before my birthday.

I rank at 18th in my state for high school cross country ski.
my coach says if I work a lot harder and improve my form, there is no reason I shouldn't make it to the junior olympics.
