Ahh, okay. Yeah, that moment was a little WTF, though I actually liked it.

Going to Hollow Bastion for the first time in Kingdom Hearts. The fact that it's not a lighthearted Disney world, but the lair of the villain you've been pursuing across the cosmos should have been the first hint that shit was about to get real.

I remember feeling confident that I could take on whatever the world threw at me. I'd just finished up Hercules Cup at Olympus Coliseum and scored the tremendously cool Metal Chocobo keyblade. Nothing could challenge me, I had the touch, I had the power.

And then Riku shows up, asserts his utter dominance over you by forcing the Keyblade to choose him instead of you, and leaves you to face Hollow Bastion with the same toy sword you started the game with. Of course, The Beast does most of the heavy lifting until you finally get the Keyblade back, but the moment is still pretty heavy. It was like the game was saying, "Oh yeah, your intentions are good and everything, but Riku is still stronger, so he wins. Doesn't really matter that he's on the wrong side, he's still tougher than you, so that's the end of it. So sorry." Definitely an OMG moment.

Well, I was playing Kanon, and a certain line hit me like a soft, fuzzy brick.

"That one time, back when I was a kid, I saved a fox cub on that hill."

Realizing that Yen Sid in the Kingdom Hearts series was Disney backwards.
That was more of a duh moment, but I was so proud of myself when I figured it out.

Certain deaths in Full Metal Alchemist completely shocked me.

OMG yes, and I remember it vividly because I MISSED IT. My brother and I were sharing the play through and he got to that part and I had to hear from him what happened. SO pissed.

For anime:
FMA:
Nina...holy shit Nina. At the start of the episode I was all "What an obnoxiously cute girl and dog", halfway through the episode dread started to creep in and by the end I was crying and whispering OMG"

Real life would have to be my 280lb halibut I caught in Alaska. That shit was twice as heavy as me.

When I figured out that Alucard from the Hellsing series was Dracula backwards, again I was kicking myself that I didn't see it straight away but it still a wow moment, so I know how you feel

Also inf Fallout 3 I was trying to find the source of one of the radio signals because it was a distress message and I wanted morality points so after searching for the place for about 10 minutes I found it and when I went inside I found the people that I wanted to help were nothing more than skeletons.

KotOR
Anyone who's played it, should know what I mean.
KotOR is just a given.

Also, FFXIII bosses. Of course in this case it's an "OMG, how the fuck does that thing have so much more fucking health from the last one!?

..And then you realize, Final Fantasy sucks horridly at enemy scaling.

For some reason, I look at your avatar just after reading your post and laugh.

My moment is the ending of the "Loose Ends" mission in Modern Warfare 2. To the people who played it, you know what I'm talking about.

I'm told my previous Jim Gaga one caused intense fear and seizures. And a mild case of death.

I had to downgrade to a only slighty "rape-your-mind" avatar. :D

Reading the Watchmen (long before the movie)

The gut reaction I had as Rorschach figured out what had happened to the little girl and what the german shepherds were fighting over

Just a quick question, does the game have the exact same story as the book?

Berserk (the manga) - Griffith's betrayel.

That was the biggest punch in the gut that a piece of modern media has ever given me.

When I first came to Outland through the Dark Portal in WoW...

It sounds geeky, I know, but... Oh my God was it something... Couldn't find words for it, and still can't.
