On Prince of Persia

I have recently learned that Ubisoft is working on (and almost finished with) The Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands. I have a question to ask. I have only played two Ubisoft games, Assassin's Creed 2, which I thought that was great, in every way except the combat, and the most recent Prince of Persia, which I personally disliked. I have also heard many opinions on the original Sands of Time trilogy, and was wondering if Forgotten Sands looks like it will be similar to, say, a mixture of all the best parts of each game, or another game like 2008's?

The Forgotten Sands is a continuation of the Sands of Time trilogy (it takes place between the first and second games, I believe). So it will probably be more like the Sands of Time and less like the lame new one.

Although I have a feeling it'll be lame anyway, since it looks like it was just made to tie in with the movie.

The Forgotten sands looks like a moderate return to the original series. They seem to have more enemies who can be killed in one hit though which looks kind of annoying, but there's other enemies that take more hits.

The major thing I'm worried about is that you apparantly have to buy/unlock/power up abilities and you only get the rewind time power. I'm still on the fence on whether or not it'll be good.

Not sure about the buy/unlock/powerup thing, but I think it's pretty firm that you get elemental powers (like the power to control water, etc).

Well, from what I've seen so far, Water is solely a platforming ability and Wind is a combat ability. Wind seems to be used in order to get rid of multiple enemies at once.

As for the buying of stuff, I remember reading from Kotaku a while ago something mentioning the buying of a shield. I also read something about the Prince not dodging things which unnerved me a bit...

I will gladly welcome the Water element to the lovely platforming of the original PoP though, as it can only make it more challenging. I just hope Ubisoft makes sure to make the puzzles an actual challenge, unlike the 2008 PoP. I also hope they put in a few more than 2008 PoP...

Ubisoft can go fuck themselves, I'm not buying any more of their games until they remove DRM forever.

While it supposed to tie up the loose ends that came up between Sands of Time and Warrior Within it still looks like a cheap tie in to the upcoming movie which saddens me slightly.
