Where do you see the escapist, and subsequently it's contributors, in 20 years?

I see it getting as big as something like IGN or gamefaqs, but thats just me.

I hate to sound like an indie jerkwad, but if it were to become as big as IGN or Gamefaqs it would draw the attention of the unwashed masses and they would ruin it.
The Escapist will be fine though, so long as I am here to maintain and protect it.

It will be interesting to see.

I hope it doesn't turn into IGN or gamefaqs though. That would just be awful.

Something better will probably pop up somewhere else and we'll all migrate there.

Yeah that's probably true.

OT: I give this site 10 years tops, until it closes, or becomes Gamefaqs or IGN.

Yahtzee is a pretty big catalyst of the websites doom.

I'm gonna say that it'll be something like those two events in order. It gets huge and all the escapees.... Escape... to somewhere else.

It'll either remain the same, or cease to exist becuase of Budget, Financial, Personal reasones.

Just being realistic, although i do hope it's at least the first option.

I don't really want it to change too much, but I know it's inevitable.
All I can say is that I'm not planning on leaving.
Unless they start charging exorbitant fees per post.
Then I'm just fucking out of here.

I can only pray that it remains the same, with a solid community of mostly mature people. I would find myself a very sad person if it turned into a huge phenomenon and attracted people like those from the Youtube community.

*shudder*

Honestly I find the Escapist to be a genuine beacon of hope in the generalized crap-pile that is the internet. The forums are very well regulated, and discussions stay very well on topic without going too tangential or offensive. I would be worried for this wonderful site (I mean this seriously; no sarcasm) when Yahtzee decides to move onto other things. This site has plenty going for it. But let's face it; he is the reason this site gets a lot of traffic.
