Let's just say that you are somehow in control over the fate of the planet.

One country of your choice will take over the entire world.

Their ideas, their culture, and their government will control over the entire world.

Which country do you pick?

And once you pick, you will not be recognized as the person who made the choice, so no one will try killing you.

Personally, I choose Molosia, the micro nation in Nevada. (lol)

"One country to rule them all."

At the risk of being flamed, I would pick the United States. 1/3 - 1/2 of the world lives in a society that is, either very similar to or highly influenced by, the US. That means that for the most part, North America, Europe, and a large part of Asia wouldn't have to change very many things to adapt so the cultural transition would go much more smoothly.

Also, the US is built on the cultures and traditions of people from all over the world so there is a degree of acceptance (for the most part) of traditions that is not present in other places on the planet which would translate to cultures that are not like the US being able to keep many of their traditions and whatnot.

Canada. Free poutine and maple syrup for all as we liberate you from the tyrannical rule of those who don't believe in legalizing pot and free health care.

Edit: Maybe Germany, three times the charm, right?

Either:

Norway (my first choice) or Japan.

I live in the U.S., by the way.

This is well worded. I am inclined to agree with you. Our society is the "everyman" society for all types, regardless. However, I can't wait for someone to quote you because of...one or two little tidbits they consider remarkably offensive. It's bound to happen, give it...three seconds or so.

the US. Our representative system would fit a global government quite effectively. It would leave nations with semi-autonomous state, while maintaining a global federal government as well. Been to many different countries. Wasn't even born in the US (born in USSR) and I'll say...a Global government built on the American model? You got my vote.

Whichever country has good government benefits and bases their morals over the changing times and equality rather than some dumb ass religion. I don't know what country fits that requirement I just know it aint the USA.

Norway, they are just awesome and I love their country.

If I had to make a second choice, Canada.

What's wrong with basing morals on religion? For the most part, every moral we have today comes from a religion somewhere. And the US absolutely changes with the times. The Constitution is designed to be what historians call a "living document." That is, it is allowed to be changed to fit the changing world and has indeed been changed many times. That's what the Amendments are. \

Anyone who has studied US history in any credible fashion will absolutely tell you the founding fathers intended the Constitution to be adaptable for the time.
