When I got my PS2 back in the day the only game I bought with it was Soul Reaver 2. What followed was comparable to an unhealthy relationship: i found my new girl, stalked out her older, more refined sisters and camped out waiting for her younger siblings . . . even that twisted one that smelled like old meat.
Ok, stretched metaphors aside I love the Legacy of Kain series. I am saddened that it never really got all that much attention, but at the same time I'm ok with that in an odd way. It's nice not seeing something you love get bloated on its own popularity; however, there is something that's been bothering me, spoilers ahoy.
The last game, Defiance, culminates in one of the best hero's awakenings I've ever seen. Kain's spirit is cleansed, the Reaver is remade, the Elder God shows his true face. We have our Scion of Balance, his badass weapon and the big bad finally made clear and . . . nothing on that for a decade. I know that Amy Hennig left to go work for Naughty Dog and make the Uncharted games, and all power in the world to her on that, but one more game? Eidos? Please? Wrap this up and then you can make all the Tomb Raiders that your little hearts desire?
There was some talk a few years ago about something called The Dark Prophecy that was supposed to be the sixth game but got aborted but never really existed but was some dick with photoshop but turned out to be real but then some fan started to remake but then that got cancelled maybe? Yea . . . information is sketchy. Any one know anything I don't? Does anyone plan to revisit Nosgoth anytime soon?
