The single brave man is unarmed but is a master in one specific fighting style that you can think of. The 10 cowards are just as strong as the single brave man but wield melee weapons(whatever melee weapons that you can think of) The arena would just be a wide, spacious dark alley filled with dumpsters and garbage cans.

So who would win in a fight to the death in this scenario?

The 10 cowards, because they would all go "oh fuck this" and run away before the one guy could react... and some of them would probably lob grenades over their shoulders as they went. Statistically, at least one of those grenades should hit the one guy.

The cowards would be confident in their numbers and therefore would not flee and would easily beat the one person.
This is just an assumption. Considering that people sometimes get violated on the street with nobody interfering (watching at best, but usually looking away) makes me question this.

But then they would not be cowards anymore, making the thread null and void. My guess is that we are to assume they have zero morale and would not band together until they have lost a few of their allies and feel backed into a corner.

That is because they do not want to get involved.
In this case the 10 cowards are already involved and their numbers should inspire the confidence to overcome their fears.
You won this battle, but the war is not over yet!

Depends on how skilled the 10 are. If they possess a level of skill, i would give my bets to the one strong man. However, as unskilled opponents can be even more dangerous than very skilled opponent's, statistically one of the cowards may land a hit. BUt winning, i would put my bets on the 1 man, even though there is a chance of him losing.
Unless that one man is Ken, in which case he would poke the ten men in the foreheads and they would explode (those of you who got that reference deserve a cookie)

They are still cowards but their numbers give them confidence.
Then they might satnd a chance, if they work together and don't get in each-others way.
