One whole year

One year today I joined the Escapist. (Started visiting in 2008, but only joined the forum in 2010)
Its been one hell of a ride full of great discussion. Easily the best forum that I frequent. Almost troll free and an intelligent and mature community (vast majority at least).

So for "discussion" value. How long have you been here and has it been as enjoyable as I found it?

Congratulations!

I recently celebrated my 2 year anniversary back in March and I even made a celebratory thread about it.(sadly nobody posted in it, yea jerks.) As for the second question I've seriously have more fun here than anywhere else. Simply put it, this place is awesome!

I've only been here a little longer than yourself OP (a week to be exact) so I would imagine your experiences with the site have pretty much mirrored my own. It's an entertaining site, and a welcome distraction near the end of the day when the pile of work on my desk just refuses to move, no matter what I throw at it (coffee mugs, insults, even kittens).

I'll be celebrating my 1st year before the end of April (somewhere around the 28th). I initially just poked around at Zero Punctuation but something else caught my eye (sadly I can't remember what it was) and I looked into other areas of the site and finally decided to join. Now The Escapist is a daily stop in my internet browsing and I love being up to date on all things involved with video games.

I've been here for almost two years. In the beginning I didn't write that much on the forums. I thought the articles and videos were great, so I stayed for them.

I've been here for 2 years and it's been pretty fun, though I'm not on as much as I used to be (I was the always posts first guy before Furburt and Hublilub appeared). There's been fun threads and fun gaming and talking to everyone, and of course I have to give the epic annual Escapism UK meet-up a shout.

And I'd been lurking for like months before that. I've been dicking around here for way too long.

It's been okay, I guess. I get to throw bitchfits and as long as I don't aim it at anyone in particular I get no mod wrath.
Plus I met a whole bunch of people on here. People who eventually became pretty good friends. So there's that.

I just celebrated my second year here.

At first I joined just to make game reviews, but after seeing that no one really gives a rat's ass about the User Reviews section unless someone is confirming yet again that some nostalgic game of old is still awesome. (Looking at you, Silent Hill 2.)

I find the Escapist in whole, a pretty good forum. I think people can be a bit too serious on here, but I balance out all this serious discussion with my nightly 4chan time, so meh.

If there's one thing that bothers me though, it's how quickly people can be to insulting one another due to different opinions or beliefs, mostly religion or consoles. Though, this IS a gaming website, so the latter is forgiven.

Started checking the Forum in October last year (2010)
Thought I found a real good community with witty and intelligent content for discussion.

Now, 7 months later and all am seeing is f***ing posts about avatars and 4 or 5 new Minecraft threads a day about pointless crap on how you stack 3 blocks together or decorate another sodding castle... *cough*
And that alot people prefer pointing out spelling mistakes or posting the complete opposite to the thread I started Ex.

For lesser words, it started off great from day one and since then I'm slowly realising this is fan boy and follower central.
Theres a few people I like to read and talk to and the occassional topic worth checking out here, friendly and safe to debates when the xXevilknightthiefx666's have gone to bed and generally good atmosphere and content

Two years as of next week. The first year didn't entail much posting (and that was under my old screen name) but I've enjoyed a site with very mature conversations and intelligent people, unlike say what you get on 4chan (/b/ specifically)

Been here for but little over a week now, but the time spent here has always been met with reward and satisfaction! I had been frequenting the boards a long while before I actually joined back in March (probably around the 2009 vicinity,) and so reading all these interesting topics of discussion made me want to get involved. Long story short, that one year anniversary will probably be here before I know it!

I've been hear for more than two years, which probably shows that I like it a lot and I'm not going anywhere. Thinking of upgrading to publisher's club at some point.

The community is - generally - great (one or two pricks here and there, but I won't name names, and we're all human), and I love the features. It's among my favourite websites, and my favourite forum by a wide, wide margin.
