What is you personal opinion on online multiplayer in most shooters?
Personally I think that sniper rifles are way overused, in most games it's hard to go a whole match without having at least 5 snipers. I'm not saying that anyone who snipes is bad, but I can't stand people who do nothing but use that stupid weapon throughout an entire match. Especially when they ignore objectives and just shoot everyone.
Halo's multiplayer is highly overrated. While it is fun to take part in the constant explosions and chaos, there are too many people with extremely squeaky voices and/or an need to curse excessively. While the objective-based games such as CTF, Assault, and Infection are great fun, I found that the straight-up Slayer matches are basically just everyone running around shooting at each other from 10 feet away until they can get close enough to melee each other.
I rather enjoyed the more strategic combat of COD4, since each weapon has its own specialization, there really isn't a single standard weapon that is "better" than the others, where in Halo it sometimes boils down to whoever runs to the center of the map and grabs the rocket launcher is going to kill everyone unless he is retarded, runs out of ammo, or meets someone with a better weapon. The one problem with COD4's multiplayer is that since there really isn't a terribly large amount of variety, it doesn't maintain it's fun as long as Halo does, with tons of weapons, vehicles, and explosions to spice things up and keep it interesting.
