I got the game a few days ago and I can honestly say I kind of like.

Graphics: The graphics are pretty good. There not some crazy super next-gen graphics but there still good.
Gameplay: The gameplay itself makes you feel like a bad ass. At first it was a little tough to take down enemies but as I progressed, the new abilities let me kill Uruks much faster.
Story: The lore in the game is impressive but the story itself wasn't that great.

I'd say the worst part of the game was the ending. There was so much hype going into that last mission but the final boss was very dull and easy.
But that aside, it still is a pretty fun game to go in and mess around.

This game for me excels at:

Combat- the exact same as the Arkham series, which I love. So plus there.
Stealth- Fun, sometimes challenging, but something I still enjoy after twenty hours.
Nemesis system- A great concept they pulled off, giving the game a very high amount of gaming hours.
Voice acting- Loved it, every VA was perfect in this game. Even for the weak lead.

This game is weak at

Story- I was really bored.
Main Character- He's really boring.
Last hour- It honestly just feels like they gave up the last hour. The two final bosses are just downright disgraceful.

Either way, this has been my favorite game so far this year.

This is what assassins creed should be. Free form missions that you plot yourself. I had so much fun baiting a captain to right in front of a caragor pen, breaking it open and watching it eat him.

And that's just the beginning. I just got the ability to brand and I'm going to try to get a situation where every uruk in a stronghold except the captain is my minion and watch them tear him apart.

The game is really solid, but it wraps up way too quickly at the end, not to mention the disappointing last two bosses (if you can call them that). Great gameplay, rather abysmal story, to be a bit hyperbolic.

I also love the voice work for the game. A lot.

From what I have played so far I would say it is a pretty good game. It has great gameplay and it's quite pretty to look at. Combat of course is something where the game seems to excel, with the nemesis system adding a nice dynamic feel to the world.

Story wise it's as everyone else has said, not the best. But hey, the game is good enough that the lackluster story doesn't bother me so much.

As far as I'm concerned this is mostly a demo for the nemesis system .
It's not exactly uncommon to hear people say they dicked around for the first few hours without touching story missions and it was my experience too.

Cos otherwise this game wouldn't interest me too much:
-The game is set in Mordor which..isn't exactly that thrilling of an environment though I suppose that the dreary setting combined with the fact that most non orc npcs are slaves outside of story missions, helps reinforce the feeling you're all alone behind enemy lines.
-I don't care much about LOTR and its plot so wasn't too interested in the story.
-Don't particularly like the protagonist and the majority of non orc npcs in this game with some exception here and there (such as the dwarf hunter) imo.

Heck at time of writing I haven't done final story missions yet. Goes to show how eager I am to see the end of the story.

Edit: Finished game last night. Looking back I'd keep the ghost elf side of the story but feel the main character would have been better off without the stereotypical dead family motivation, I think I'd have preferred it if it was just some random ranger who got really unlucky.

I'd have replaced the resistance peeps with some organically created slave chiefs from amongst those you liberated (i.e: the nemesis system would apply to more then the orcs).
