Good news everybody. Feel like washing away the awful taste of putrid shit and diseased balls of that abominable mobile 'game'? Or do you want to know why that bile-filled monstrosity makes fans of the franchise feel like EA is slapping them in the face with its moist & bulbous purple cock?

Ahem, so yeah, GOG.com [http://www.gog.com/] is giving away the original Dungeon Keeper for free until Sunday, Februari 16 at 10:59 GMT.

So, get your copy while the offer lasts. Cuz you know, free stuff. And it's a pretty good game too.

Just expect the servers to be a little, uh, snowed under.

They're sending codes in emails, eventually, if you claim it first, though.

GOG!
Guess it's not as popular as the Fallout series.

I lol'd when I got the email informing me of the deal. Oh GOG, you cheeky wonderful lovable scamps! Never change.

I already have Dungeon Keeper from GOG so this is one freebie promotion they're doing that I can't utilise.

I would've thought the other way around, myself, since the servers didn't crash when they gave away the Fallout games (at least from what I remember; I didn't spend every waking minute on the website but had no problem claiming them myself still pretty early in the deal).

But yeah, this is pretty cool. I've never played Dungeon Keeper and I don't know how long it'd take before I get around to having a free enough backlog to get to it, but free games!

Depends on who you ask, I guess. Or maybe they learnt from that, because I couldn't access the site at all when they were giving away the Fallout series (until the site managed to stay up long enough for me to claim them), while I have no problems accessing it now.

The guys at GOG have great timing.

All that's left is wait for the code, I guess.

I got it but it doesn't show up in my library for some reason... ?
I also can't re-claim the deal lol.

edit: probably should have read the landing page. It states the high demand is slowing things down. Derp!

Ah, thank you. I usually miss these. Also, that's a great intro, lol

I do feel like I'm sticking it to EA by getting this, but that's probably not the case.

This is one of the many, many reasons I love GOG. They just keep doing awesome shit like this. Makes me kinda want to throw all of my money at them.

Frankly now I just feel bad that GOG.com isn't my main digital game source. They just don't have that many modern releases, which is a shame because they're awesome.

Wouldn't EA make money off every copy GOG sells?

It certainly FEELS like a "fuck you" to EA, but in reality I think they just get to have their cake and eat it too.

I doubt they ever will though :( Sad if you think about it, they are basically too good hearted for most publishers to take them up (I mean really, will EA or Activision ever support a digital storefront that lacks DRM, or actually cares about gamers for that matter?)

I'm glad to see they're knee deep in the indie scene though! Hope the developers are getting tons of sale through them, just to prove a point mainly but also because most of those guys deserve it of course.

EA will probably find a way to spin it to their advantage. Like if a million people get the game for free they will shout from the rooftops that they are a great company because their old games are really hip with the kiddos, plus they are so kind to give it away for free pleaseforgetthatwetriedtofakeratingsonourshittymobilecashin *gasp for air*.

And wouldn't you know it. When there is a videogame scandal GOG swoops in to be the good guys! It's almost too convenient...

This makes me sad, my debit card is for a smallish credit union which means that when I try to buy stuff from a vendor not hosted in the US they suspect my card infos has been haxored and lock my card until I call saying its ok D:
