The four legs and tusks kinda remind me of a Mutalisk, in a way. Looks pretty cool, at any rate.

I tried her out for a whole 3 minutes in the practice range. But apparently the PTR is having issues and it's literally impossible to join any games (including the Range)

So far seems to play like elements of Bastion, D.VA, Zarya, and Rheinhardt all mashed into one character with each of these elements being toned down.

Her primary has 200 bullets and has respectable damage output, range, and spread (like a toned down Bastion) and while firing her movement speed in noticeably decreased (Like when D.VA fires)

Her secondary can pulls enemies toward an orb she fires out (like a smaller, more temporary Zarya Ult)

And she can fire out a 600HP shield (like a toned down Rheinhardt shield) but it's completely stationary

I didn't really get to try out her Ultimate though, but I gather it just boosts the damage of her allies when they are nearby the drop.

So just to ask: Is Orisa going to be more capable of being played as a long- or at least mid-ranged "support tank" kind of character rather than most of the Overwatch tank heroes that are short-ranged "face tanks"?

Thankfully the Tyranids never made it into the Gothic War.

Emperor knows I have enough on my plate with Orks, Eldar and filthy heretics.

Speaking of, this new Overwatch character? EXTRA HERETICAL

Hopefully fun though.

There's already a vid out there of her using the secondary fire to pull people over the well in ilios and letting them drop, so that could lead to some... interesting moments.

Looks stupid as fuck, but from the videos I've seen, it should be fun to play, and should make the Rein-centric meta a bit more varied. So overall, pretty good.

So, this is interesting.


Orisa's ult is basically just a Mercy damage-boost that applies to everyone in LOS of it at the same time, (and it's 50% damage-boost instead of Mercy's 30%).

However, it does NOT stack with an actual Mercy providing a damage boost, but it DOES stack with Ana's nano-boost (which itself gives a 50% damage boost), giving a 100% damage boost altogether on the target hero, ie: double damage.

... Because that's not OP at all.

You mean to tell me... a hero who can block healing (the only one with this ability in the entire game), who has the strongest healing of all the supports, who can heal instantly at any range (unlike Mercy), who is the only healer with 300 effective hp (taking grenade into account), whose grenade itself does more damage than a Genji dash, whose weapon does more damage per shot than Zen WITH discord (headshots excluded), who has the ability to shut down certain ultimates from any range (unlike Sombra; that's right, sleep-dart is a better 'hack' than Sombra's actual hack), and whose ultimate is and always will break the game, ...you mean to tell me that this hero is OP?

And it would be SOO easy to fix her.

Take her healing grenade and remove the healing, therefore making her a dedicated counter-healer.

Change her ultimate and make it so that it causes her to be able to rapid-fire with unlimited ammo for a certain duration. This ultimate would allow her to output a lot of burst healing if you can aim, while also giving her a defensive option if facing off against multiple opponents, and most importantly it actually feels rewarding for the player to use, unlike her current ultimate which is only rewarding for the recipient.

But NO, Blizzard has a vision for her and they're sticking to that vision even if it's been ruining the game since her inclusion.

Remember when the nano boost could make someone go faster?
Remember when she was the only 200hp hero that could not be killed with Roadhogs hook and shoot combo (Roadhog main btw) removing a key way to kill her.
Remember when her grenade could heal 100 health plus 100 percent healing where the most other boast from other characters were in the 30's at best.

and despite fixing all of that she almost 100% better than zen or mercy in most cases. She is the kael'thas of overwatch.

I agree with you on the grenade but I really don't think the ult needs changing, it's that fucking grenade that makes her over powered.

I like the design and her moves looks aright. Will probably try her when she becomes public since Tank is one of my favorite roles.

My only concern is that is going to make good old Reinhardt redundant.

So, even though nano plus (old) Bastion's ironclad technically added up to 85% DR, it was actually capped at 70%. I didn't actually know this before now, but still, 70% is still ridiculously high.

Thankfully, the DR hard-cap is now 50%. So basically, no DR will ever stack with nano (because nano already maxes out the cap), which is a relief.
I guess the devs were forced to do this, because Orisa has a standard ability that gives her 50% DR while she uses it.
