Our Greatest Achievement

Simple question that takes a lot of thought: What is mankind's greatest achievement?

Personally I believe the greatest achievement would be the in the summer of 1969 when we took our first steps on something other then the earth, when we stepped all over the face of the man in moon.

The invention of money.

It is entirely psychological. It is a promise of value determined only by what can be given in exchange for it. Without it little in our society can function for long.

we didn't invent language, it evolved with us. Everything mankind has every created could be destroyed but we would still have language.

But I do agree, it is vastly important

Interesting, but false. If a child is raised in silence, without language, they will not have one. Nor will they be able to understand what it is. We evolved the capability of language, just like we evolved the capability to craft, and dance. That doesn't mean the specifics crafts and dances are not inventions.

Either way, I was really just making a snide comment over the Original Posters horrid spelling of 'achievement'.

Edit: Oh, and of course the topic wasn't about inventions ANYway. It was about achievements, which is a substantially less definable concept.
