Inspired the recent episode of Yo Video Games podcast posted by u/BrawlMan in another thread, let's list some games we feel are either overrated and over-hated.

Yes, I'm quite bored at work today waiting on others to submit deliverables I can process, so I'm-a-go-off a bit today maybe hahah....

Anyway, I wanna be very careful with the word "overrated" because people throw that word around too much, like if they personally couldn't get into a game but it's beloved so they hate being the outlier. This IMO is not a good use of that term. For example I couldn't get into BotW, Outer Wilds or any Fallouts but people freaking love those and they set standards so I'm not going to say they are "overrated," that would be arrogant, it just means they're not for me.

The example of overrated that one of the podcasters gave is the entire Final Fantasy franchise, but it's because he believes there are other JRPGs worth trying and that the franchise overshadows them. I like that way of thinking about it- interest in promoting other games and ideas not just shitting on popular things.

Over-hated is more self-explanatory- just a game that gets shit on for no or exaggerated reason.

I'll give two examples each:

Over-rated 1: Elden Ring
I just think it's Dark Souls 4. Yes I know we've talked this game to death so I don't need to repeat everything but it's not better than Dark Souls, DS2 or DS3 IMO. I don't think it set some new standard for open world games, they been doing that for years already. I think the things it excels at- lore/world-building, cool monsters, rpg mechanics, etc, had been done before- and that's fine, I'm not shitting on the game for being DS4, I'm just saying that people talk about it like it set some standard and that all other open world games besides BotW are garbage and if a map has an icon it should be burned at the stake 'cause ER, and it's insufferable.
I also think people sell its accessibility way to hard, and it's plain wrong. You can just use summons to beat a boss- sometimes, but not always, and certainly not at the end. And then people admit the end just sucks which.. I mean, for a game to be so great, the end has to not suck, you know? IMO the game is good- if you like Dark Souls!- but its position in the gamer culture is fucking exhausting.

Over-rated 2: Outer Wilds
Again- great game, I'm sure. The reason I feel this way is how often I have seen it talked about like "you HAVE to play this game." Any game that is a "must" play outside of a specific genre or subculture automatically gets an "overrated" from me. You know- not everyone enjoys literally stumbling around in the dark. Not everyone is comfortable with first person perspective. Not everyone enjoys struggling with physics-based mechanics. And not everyone enjoys a puzzle game- maybe we do soduku for that stuff.
I was considering throwing Return of the Obra Dinn in here but at least when fans of that game will say things like "IF you like puzzles" or "IF you don't mind the weird graphics" or whatever- because, as with Outer Wilds, the fun is the stumbling around figuring out the mysteries, but Outer Wilds, unlike Obra Dinn, is often presented as some measure of gamer taste and sophistication and video games just don't make sense with that kind of attitude to me.

Over-hated 1: Assassins Creed Valhalla
I mean, it's basically the same as Origin and Odyssey to me, and it's weird when folks are like "Odyssey were great but Valhalla was boring or too long" like wtf they're the same game. This bitching and moaning over side quests vs chapters is so nonsensical- it's the same experience!
And yeah it's fine if you HATE AssCreed or Ubisoft or you "miss the old Assassins Creed" or whatever. Then it makes sense to dislike all of three of them equally, not to single out this one over the other two.

Over-hated 2: Forspoken
I dunno, it just rubbed me the wrong way how folks were shitting on the trailers right away, which led to this current wave of hating on literally any dialogue in a game that I'm seeing on the internet. And now Baldur's Gate 3 is getting love and it's so much dialogue... "oh but this dialogue is GOOD and that dialogue is BAD" and it all seems arbitrary and fishy.
Like i'm not saying is Forspoken is good (I played the demo and it was fine, not interesting enough to buy). I'm just saying the whole discourse around it put me off.

I appreciate the shout out. I'll add the video for for the context. Just a heads up, we've already had like over a dozen of the overrated or over hated threads, back when it was still version one of the forum. Everyone can do whatever they want, and I'll add my own later today.

I hate all the new games equally, and because it's Ubisoft. I can't speak for everyone else, but if fans are now starting to realize and complain about this, they have no one to blame with themselves. All I got to ask is: what took you all so long? Ubisoft has been doing the same thing, with diminishing returns each time for most of their games now. They either don't play good, look worse, or I just filled with crappy micro transactions and filled with fomo.

I can see both sides with Forspoken, but keep in mind, that game got a lot of hype with this announcement back in 2018 or 2019. The press also over hyped it for how "progressive" it was, but it takes more than just having a black female lead character. There was a lot of wasted opportunity. What didn't help matters is that both characters are unlikable shit heads, that we are supposed to like. In addition, there are better black female leads or characters in video games, better written and better develop than the main lead in this game. While some of the hatred was definitely overblown, a lot of the over hype from the press, and the overall result of the stories and characters killed it. The gameplay is actually good, but it takes forever to get going, and people were already sick of tired of many game companies imitating either MCU or Deadpool style dialogue, and failing. Forspoken wasn't the only one guilty of this, but it was at that point where it was getting the most annoying and people were just sick and tired of it. Hell, it still issue with a lot of large AAA games that feel the need to have the characters talk and be witty every 2 seconds. Otherwise the players will get bored! Otherwise, the game has already been forgotten about by this point. It's been forgotten about around April or May. Yesterday's news.

I'd say forspoken is like a soft 6/10, but I'd break that down to 8/10 gameplay but 3/10 story/writing. The problem is the game really front load all its problem, with writing and terrible lead in the first hours so it'll leave a terrible first impression to people just picking it up. It doesn't improve that much afterward but it at least its a bit less obnoxious (until the ending which is rivaling FF13 level of terrible, but I doubt many people got there). I think part of the problem is that all the technical element to make a good game are there, they just messed up the execution by hiring terrible writter (probably like 0.001% of the final cost of the game). I think that make the failure stings more.

I'd disagree with FF franchise being over ratted and I'm not quite sure what other JRPG it overshadow. There's been plenty of good JRPG, but if I was to make a list of my top 10 probably like 5-6 of them would be FF. That being said its clearly fallen on hard time lately (well last decade) and mostly coasting on reputation now.

My go to for over rated is easily witcher 3, it's an amazing 15 hours game stretched to mediocre 100 hours slog. Yes the writing is amazing, but that doesn't do much for me when I'm fighting the same enemy over and over again, because of the poor enemy variety, in the same 3 environments (forest, cave, city) using the exact same tactics I was doing at the start of the game because the gameplay never evolve from 'poor'. The incredible repetition of the side quest also really hurt, you can dress it up as much as you want, but you're always doing the same things in them and following red trail is already really boring to begin with. The main quest is well written, but 90% of what you do has nothing to do with the main objective and ultimatly the only thing that matters was a complete coincidence. The UI is awful, they had to patch the movement because of how bad it was and there's so many bug (at least the PS4 version I played, about 6 months after release) that it would even make bethesda blush (I played it right before fallout 4 and difference in stability was night and days). But hey, boobies and swearing. If someone hasn't played it and is thinking of picking it up, just ignore everything optional and do the main quest only and maybe a couple of major side quest.

I don't really have an over hated that's big and well known, most of the game I could think of would be small game with some interesting aspect that I think are well worth with the janx that comes with them, like left alive and gundam crossfire.

Hahah, Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. Love these threads.
But there was a time when it was treated the same way Elden Ring and Breath of the Kingdom are, where it was smothered to death with meme praise, which is annoying.

The reason I love it and I do think it deserves it's "one of the all-time" places in history is that so many games and franchises seem to try to hit its style of quest design and action/adventure story telling and failed, and it still hasn't been surpassed. And a lot of players don't prioritize that but I do. But if the setting and story and characters don't HIT a player as hard as it did me, then the repetitive activities get annoying instead of immersive, and I get that, I totally feel that way about other open world with big maps and side quest games.

- No man's Sky. Although it was more overhyped than overrated; it's clear it had a very zealous fanbase before it even was released. But after release, the prevalent opinion did a complete 180 and became the most hated game of the year (less for its own merits and more for not living up to the hype), and their developers the villains of the month.

- Zelda: Wind Waker. When it first was released it was considered the black sheep of the franchise. Instead of improving the style established by Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask in the N64, it embraced a cuter aesthetic using cell-shaded technology. It later became more like a cult classic (especially after Youtube brought the Zelda CDi games out of the obscurity and into the public eye as the worst Zelda games ever) and later gained enough popularity to get an HD remaster.

Overrated:

  • Turtles in Time - both the arcade and SNES version especially. The arcade version while having great graphical fidelity and animations, is a quarter muncher and relies on randomization to do a throw. While the SNES port is a great game and it's better polished and balanced, is still kind of limited. It's certainly not the greatest brawler of all time as certain hardcore turtle fans or super Nintendo fans were making back in the 2000s. This sentiment has finally died off a few years ago, but one of the ones who kept bringing it up, Stuttering Craig, still live by this model in his incredibly shrinking echo chamber until Shredder's Revenge came out. It's not the greatest brawler either, but it does deserve it a spot in the top 15.
  • Far Cry 3 - Other than Vaas, it's just an easier version of the second that's not a main complaint, but I never felt the need to play again after one playthrough.
  • Gears of War in general. The third game is definitely the best at the franchise, but I never liked the stop and start cover shooting of most of these type of games, nor of the many clones of its genre. Now to be fair, you do have variety to an extent, but that's only in comparison to other cookie cutter cover shooters, and not the expansive third person shooters from the generation before that. I prefer the over the shoulder shooters that are non-cover shooters, like Shadows of the Damned, over any of the Gears of War games. Vanquish trumps them all.
  • Ninja Gaiden II (360) - the game was a buggy mess at lunch. It had a ton of game breaking bugs, in the case of you going into your 360's hard drive in order to get past a game breaking glitch. It runs better now, because it's on appropriate hardware, before that point it was overly difficulty. I prefer the sigma version. It has its own issues and flaws, but it's much more balanced and easier in most regards while still being a challenge. The only thing that sucks is the lack of gore.

Overhated:
  • Oneechanbara Bikini Zombie Slayers - the game is a 6 out of 10. I still wouldn't pay $30 for it though. I literally got it for four bucks at a GameStop. The combat is actually fun and there's depth to it, but for a budget title obviously, the level design is lacking hard. The sequels that came afterward on HD (not Bikini Samurai Squad) are so much better than a lot of the games in the franchise. Z, Z2, and Origin have made all of the PS2 games, Wii, and the first 360 game obsolete.
  • Double Dragon IV - Decent game with cool unlockables and replay value, but had the unfortunate event of coming out after Neon. Certain people have their points, but is wn overall decent NES throwback brawler game. Still better than Double Dragon 1 & 3 on NES. That's not much of a milestone, but I'll take it.
  • Crysis 3 - this one mainly got a lot of hate from PC players and Yahtzee. But we got one of the best shooters ever from seventh generation, with the best gameplay. Yes it's not as long as the first two games, but that's not exactly a bad thing. The campaign can still take you 7 to 10 hours to complete, and the levels are really expansive. More expansive than 2's levels the best type of upgrades throughout the entire franchise. This game is like a mix and match of the first two games, but done greatly. You can throw the second game in there as well, but Yahtzee actually likes that one. Well yeah, the PC players hatred went too hard on both of these sequels, because they were no longer exclusives and "dumbed down".
  • Bulletstorm - for time, they were people hating or complaining how the multiplayer was different from your usual kill each other type gameplay. It goes for a more teamwork-based mechanic, where each team has to make the most creative kills. The multiplayer is still fun, and thankfully you can play it on the re-release editions from 8th generation consoles in pc. There are some people that cried about the campaign being too short, but it's the perfect way. The campaign is still about 8 hours, so you're not losing too much. Not to mention the high replay value in the skill system and all the different weapons, in the addition of New Game Plus in Full Clip Edition. Where you have the entire weapon wheel! People have eased off in this game since the middle of 8th generation, but back when it first launched there were certain people hating on this for no reason or feeling like it wasn't different enough.

I kind of dislike talking about whether a title is overrated or underrated. No matter what your opinion is on a piece of media odds are that there are some people that liked it more and some people that liked it less, so without specifying whom you are just saying "people had a different opinion than me" which is not that much of a revelation. Even as I acknowledge that it can be a valid discussion that helps contextualize your feelings ("I expected gold and I found bronze? People clearly are rating this too highly.")

Anyway, I'd go with Portal. Much beloved title that became the standout title in the already critically acclaimed Orange Box for innovative puzzles and memetic funny lines, I just thought it was decent. Granted, I had already had the plot spoiled beforehand and I got motion sick from the basic interaction in the game so I'd rank it lower than seasoned FPS-players, but I didn't think the AI character was funny.

Overrated: Pretty much any mainstream shooter with an MP focus. The CoD’s, Halo’s, BF’s, etc. Reasons are obvious enough; phoned in iterations and generic puddle-deep campaigns. I feel like Killzone 2/3 had a more impressive campaign presentation and MP design to this day. *shrugs*

Over-hated: Silent Hill 4: The Room. Bastard of Team Silent’s efforts it may be, but it was a bloody good bastard. The setting was original and it made you think more than ever about being efficient with your resources like the ghost killing blades. Don’t get me wrong, as stuff like the finicky room cleansing function and Eileen’s escort section could be a PITA on first playthrough especially, but what the game did well thematically and atmospherically is possibly the best of anything before it. It turned a safe space into something to dread.

Maybe it’s because I had the same bloody apartment # the first couple times I played attempted to play it, and even the open kitchen area was right-adjacent to the door. Yeah it weirded me out too much at the time. Finally actually beat the game after moving into a house and downloading it off the Japanese PSN store. Well worth it and one of the most satisfying endings. I got the good ending by a hair, since literally the next step Eileen took would’ve been her last.

Over-hated : Most of AAA really. They're succesful for a reason, and outside of a few notable trainwrecks, generally competently executed and solid gameplay wise for whatever genre they happen to be (obviously, if like myself, you don't like "realistic:" shooters, you're never going to jump on CoD/Battlefield of course). Oversaturated would be another story, but any one game taken in isolation is usually a good/great effort.

Over-rated : My go to is usually a lot of 1997-2002, which could be summarized as an era of ambitious ideas and potential, mired in jank and probably a lot of budget concerns. I'll throw in a special nod for Bioware RPGs though, which have always just been a serviceable (At best) level of gameplay, tied to an illusion of choice, that no matter what they called it, always boiled down to "good", "good guy but asks for money" and "baby killing orphanage burner.... who for some reason still does the heroic thing". Alongside a weird tendency to somehow seem like most of the party were fanfic insert characters, even when they got into their own settings.

...now hear me out...

...Fortnite.

Now, I've never actually played it, because I'm not much for battle royale games in general, let alone one where shooting at an opponent can result in the Taj Mahal spontaneously erupting from the ground. But to hear some people speak of it, you'd think that the only reason it didn't make the list of Biblical plagues is because boils are really itchy. I think an overwhelming amount of the hate it gets comes from a sense of "stupid kids should stop liking what they like and start liking what I like instead".

That's debatable. There were more than a few train wrecks and plenty that tried screwing the consumers overs. Yes, certain companies have gotten better, or gotten most of their shit together, but there are plenty of the usual suspects doing the same shit, but not as bad some of the time. Plus, certain bad practices aren't done (as much) anymore, because of either major oversaturation from all sides, or burning too much goodwill, so they have backpedal due to bottom line. Only to do the same shit another time/somewhere else on the next major trend.

You might as well add in 2005-2007 too. There's plenty from that era full of ambitious games that have not aged well in some way, or are too archaic by today standards. I know not all of these games have aged well, but plenty of them are classics or are still aged good/gracefully today.

I think an overwhelming amount of the hate it gets comes from a sense of "stupid kids should stop liking what they like and start liking what I like instead".
Pretty much, but keep in mind, Fortnite was never meant for kids in the first place. They only got hooked on to it, because of the colors and art style. Before that, game wasn't even heavily PvP focused at the time, and was more into PvE. My main problem with Fornite though, is how it produced and preys off of FOMO, and manipulating kids/encouraging kids to bully each other to buy the more expensive skins. Even when they know they can't afford them, or expect to them to steal their parents/guardians debit and credit cards. Unfortunately, this a true reality. But you won't find too many haters using this reason to hate on the game.

Speaking of SH, Silent Hill 2 is overrated and overhyped. The game is not bad, has great writing, and a great twist, but too many people on the net (with certain Yahtzee in particular) either downplaying the importance of SH1 and SH3, or acting as if "nothing" important or major happens in those games. And claims that none of the protagonists and characters are interesting in those games. Which is heavy bullshit to the millionth degree. Thankfully, there has been push back on this, but Yahtzee, his echo chamber, and certain other YT personalities have been selling this narrative likes its the ultimate truth. Ironic, as many Japanese players don't SH2 and consider it a footnote in the franchise. I disagree with them too, but at least some of their feelings softened up. Most Western SH fans tends to like all three of the og trilogy, and which ones are the best, boils down to personal prefenece, but the sensible ones won't act like thundering jack asses about it.

OG RE4 goes on here too. The QTE suck, I don't like Leon going into siege tank mode every time he has to aim, and the gam drags on far too long. Once again, certain other gaming and YT personalities (Yahtzee again!) over praise to the point of downplaying the importance of the past games, or false claiming anything that came after RE4 didn't matter, aside from RE7 and RE2R. The only difference you can add Movie Bob to the list of not knowing shit, and can sit the fuck down and shut up. Even Jim Sterling went overboard on over praising RE4. At least people like Max, Matt, Simmons, Woolie, Pat, etc. realized why someone wouldn't like nor could gel with RE4. They do admit the game has problems.

Overhated:

  • Bayonetta 3 - Hear me out: I am not talking about professional critics. Most of them were surprisingly cool. I know the game is a contested sequel, but I am calling out people like Pat (and a good amount of other YT personalities) for crying for so long about the problems with the game, or making up bullshit. I do admit, certain gimmicky sections can outstay welcome or get annoying on repeat playthoughs, and story is definitely YMMV. I liked the story overall, but I can see why people don't like ending. The level design, could have been better, and a lot more could have been slimmed down. There is too much open space for many of the later levels, as this was supposed to be an open world game at one point. I know about this game's production trouble, yet it's not all bad. The combat is somewhat different, but familiar. The summons and the combo potential you can do with them, are amazing! Visually, the game is fine, but nowhere near as good as Bayonetta 2's visuals nor color palette. While Bayonetta 1 does have a unique enough color palette (with the old timey photo look), it's suffered from washed out 7th generation color palette too. It was just more colorful in comparison to those real is brown games at the time. Viola is love her or hate her. I like the character, but her gameplay needed some smoothing out, and she got a patch update to buff her and give her better Witch Time opportunity. Platinum at least listened and fixed their fuck up.

I'm rarely fond of these types of threads. Saying something is overrated/underrated/whatever is, most of the time, stating that "I like/dislike X more than everyone else, so therefore, it's overrated/underrated, because I know what's right, and what isn't." Fine as shorthand in regular conversation, but as a declaration?

Anyway, the thread's been started, so okay. My personal rules are that I can only have one game from one IP per category (otherwise entire franchises could fill this thread by themselves), though a single game can end up in both categories (so for instance, OW2 ends up in both the over-hated and underrated categories, because it fits my definition of both).

Honestly, Doom 3 is not even underrated any more. It's been getting the proper recognition since the early 2010s. Mainly around 2012. Doom 64 will always be the true Doom 3 for me, but I don't dislike the officially labeled Doom 3.

-Sonic Unleashed
Same thing with this one. Especially from younger fans who played the game when they were kids and teenagers. I still don't like the Werehog sections, and I never bother going back to this game when Sonic Generations came out. Frontiers combat crushes Werehog combat hard.

-Resident Evil 3 (remake)
Thought about putting this up, but wanted someone else to get the chance. I agree with you big time.

Metroid: Fusion
Fusion got a good amount of love, even back then. I say this, and I am not even a fan of the franchise.

-Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
I will say that RE2OG spends too much time in the police station, and you're not in the overall city, outside of some transitional scenes. RE3OG and RE3R fixed this issue. That, and not enough zombie variety. RE3OG fixed this too. With that said, RE2 is a masterpiece that got the proper recognition it deserved. RE3 deserves to be along side that same recognition. In fact, RE3 got vindication by history within the 2010s. I always appreciated the game for its unique spin on action-panic-horror. It was more than a "mission pack sequel". The only thing I dislike about the game is the finicky dodge, which the remake fixed, the giant worm boss, the clock tower, and that shitty water puzzle that is randomized. Many of the puzzles in this game are randomized, but the water treatment is the worst about it.

For me, if a game gets a like 94+ overall rating, chances are very low that I'm gonna find it to be a very good game (8/10), sometimes not even a good game (over a 5/10). Those games hit all the features reviewers swoon over and I usually find those features to not be very associative to leading to good games. I like very tight, focused games (like how Yahtzee constantly repeats that games should focus on the core gameplay loop and not get off track) and the games that tend to get really great scores are big games that allow you to do tons of things. Well, I prefer a game doing one thing really really really fucking well than doing 10 things Ok. I've come to look very side-eyed at any game that takes more than 20 hours to complete, very much doubting it's good enough to merit more than 20 hours of my time because it's really fucking hard to make a good 20 hour game let alone a game that is good for 50 or 100 hours.

Shocking I know, but you'd be surprised how easy and trivial it is to simply dismiss the cosmetic store popup along with the other 94 tutorial messages and never engage with any part of that as part of the main gameplay. (Take Two games mayhaps are the exception, but they're not even the ones people usually levy their hatred at)

These are games that I hate quite a bit myself to a certain degree, but when death threats start to come into play I think we've reached over-hated status.

Overrated; Every Fromsoft game past Demons' and Dark Souls. Not an unbaised opinion, but with the first two - dispite not liking them too much - I can totally acknowledge it was something fresh for the gaming landscape. Everything that came afterward though is just Dark Souls again, with obtuse and clunky mechanics that Fromsoft refuses to address and fans embrace as "true gaming".

How about instead of over hated, we do under hated? I don't think COD gets enough shit. The gameplay itself is actually pretty fun in my opinion. But Goddamn, the way they railroad their stupid fucking live service bullshit down your throat AND taking up like 100 GB at the same time is unforgivable. Oh, and their skins and promo events with celebrities can go die in a fire as well.

But to stay on topic:

Overhated: Uncharted. I know it's mostly the leftover hatred that people have for the over-saturated third person shooter era of gaming, but I absolutely love the cover based shooting. I don't care that I can just hide behind a wall and wait for all the enemies to come to me, I enjoy vaulting over cover, jumping onto enemies and giving em a good thwack, and throwing grenades around with abandon. I don't get the hate for Nate either. Yeah, he's a snarky white guy going around the world killing people. That's like 30% of all video game protagonists. That might not jive with you, but Nate is most definitely one of the better examples of the archetype.

Overrated: Nintendo games I guess? I've never actually owned one besides Pokemon, but when I have gotten to play them on other people's consoles, I didn't get the appeal. Don't put too much stock into this, I couldn't think of a better answer.

For people like you and I? Yes. For those that suffer from FOMO or have addictive tendencies? No. Guys and gals like us are not the target audience. Those companies want those addictive tendencies, or young children and teens that don't know or understand the concept of money, and want them to take their parents credit cards. Spending heavily on on cosmetic shit or limited time offers not worth it in the end. That is a serious issue an nothing to laugh at, nor trivialized (I know you aren't). I've seen it happen with people I know.

Who was throwing death threats at ME3? I don't remember that. I vaguely remember Kojima getting some death threats on MGS2, but most people stopped hating on that around the early and mid 2010s

"A lot" of the hate boils down to basically Yahztee and his echo chamber. Now to be fair, most of the guys Nate was killing in the first game were mostly black, brown, or Latino. I can see where someone was coming from and how it creates an unfortunate implication. I appreciate Naughty Dog for listening to feedback, and taking careful steps to avoid doing that again. Plus, the age old problem of adapting or taking from serials that mystified or exoctified foreign cultures to have their pyramids and tombs raided for treasure that never belonged to Americans or White Europeans in the first place. I don't hate Uncharted as a whole, but I do hate Uncharted 4, Sam Drake and Nadene especially. I will say that with the Uncharted franchise, even 4, you're always doing something that adds to shooting, or have cool set pieces with huge variety and level design. Uncharted has more going on for it, than most of the cookie cutter cover shooters from 7th generation and Gears itself.

Back on point, people like Yahtzee and his echo chamber wouldn't stop biatching about Drake, even when he improved and developed as a characters. There's "too much character development" or he's "still too much of a smug douche". Where are you getting this from fellas? The great news is, most gamers actually didn't listen to them, and formed their opinions. Hey, I like this guy or am barely indifferent at worst from most gamers. The hatred for Drake and the franchise has always been a vocal minority.

You've been missing out my friend. I grew up as a Sega kid, but we still had Nintendo consoles. I have not played every single first party Nintendo game, but there's great reason Nintendo has been the business thing long. They know how to level design and polished gameplay.

People also misappropriately claim that Uncharted has ludonarrative dissonance (Yahtzee included) when it totally doesn't. Uncharted 2 and Lost Legacy are the only good Uncharteds in my book.
