So okay, among the changes currently being tested on Overwatch's PTR is a particularly interesting change;

https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/5o1di0/crouching_received_hidden_nerf_on_the_ptr/

Previously, the number of times you could crouch-spam was limited only by the speed of your input (or input device). But now they've put a deliberate limit on how many times you can crouch-spam per second, (specifically, twice per second or thereabouts).

Theoretically, this change has been implemented to stop people from incessantly spamming the crouch button and abusing it to avoid being headshotted, (works remarkably well with zero-suit D.Va for instance, who already has a hitbox the size of a pinhead).

But, - far more important than throwing off people's aim - is teabagging people, am I right? With this update, teabagging is no longer going to be quite so vigorous, what a shame...

Given how silly it looks when people spam the crouch button, I'm all for this.

As it is now, it's almost a bug.

I can't think of any good gameplay reason to crouch more than twice per second outside of the aforementioned hitbox exploit. Sounds okay to me.

I've never understood the allure of teabagging corpses in games. I get that it's a form of non-verbal trash talk, that you're implying that your opponent likes to suck balls. However, doesn't it also imply that the teabagger likes to offer their balls to strangers be sucked (or worse, is into necrophilia)?

This.

Hell, I only ever crouch in Overwatch in the 1V1 mode, since I'm a sneaky guy who uses audio to determine where the enemy is. ...This is mostly to make up for my bad aim. XD

The Reddit post says it's a hidden nerf, but it's right there in the patch notes. [https://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/20752795395]

It's just as well. It's enough of a pain in the ass to hit a small target, much less an A+D+Crouch spammer. I don't mind giving up some teabag ability for that.

Outside of actual teabagging, I remember hearing there being a lot of problems fighting people who mashed the crouch button in a fire-fight (especially if you were a sniper). Don't think it was common, but enough to warrant some complaints.

That's because the patch only just went live. There was no mention of this nerf in the PTR patch notes at the time. (Perhaps I should've held back on making this thread for another day or something, oh wells).

Anyway, on the subject of teabagging, I don't do it myself but it does happen to me a bit, usually when I play Tracer and the enemy is having a hard job killing me. When I finally do die, it's not uncommon to see the enemy do the ol' crouch-spam victory dance.

Teabagging is silly but ultimately harmless nonsense. I think it's an overreaction, but Blizzard is well known to hate hate fun, so it's not surprising.

Holy straw man batman! As pointed out in another post, there was a high of exploit going on because of this.

It's the same thing as people saying "GG EZ" at the end of a game which is extremely toxic.
Don't you mean:
"gg"
"ez"?

And not "It's past my bedtime. Please don't tell my Mommy!"

I guess I can understand people being upset if there's actually a practical use for crouching really fast.

I definitely support what Blizzard is trying to do, but I won't blame some of the players for being upset about losing one of their tactics, provided that's why they're actually upset.

Ah I forgot they did that to people playing Overwatch. See, I play a lot of League of Legends and they don't censor / filter the toxic words. In fact you can say just about anything but if it's really bad you'll get in trouble if enough people report you for it.
Well, they only filter that one phrase and only after the match is complete as far as I know.

Anyway, when necessary I ask people how often they were dropped on their heads as babies and from what heights. On both games, though I quit LoL last October.

As pointed out on the Reddit discussion, a slow teabag is perfectly fine for reminding your fallen opponents that they suck balls and that you like having your balls sucked. Hammering the crouch button just makes it look like a graphical glitch.

So it's not really a teabagging nerf at all.
