As the author easily had the verdict in What is the best subscription model?: [http://my.mmosite.com/oliase/Blog/Item/b38edd3bb9e52fa5a7807dbce6890982.html]

Best subscription model:

Buy to Play!

Buy to play has a lot of the benefits of a pay to play game, but is cheap enough so that a lot of gamers, if not all of them, can afford to play if they really want to. Because of the cost involved in playing the game, hackers and other rule breakers will usually stay clear of the game for the most part because it's not worth the cost if they just want to hack or bot to level up. You also get a great company along with the game who gets involved. With the money earned from this game, which is quite a bit compared to free to play model games, the company can afford more employees, better servers, and is an all-around better and more active company. This means better events as well, which make any game better. Think about it, you're paying a measly $50 tops for a great game, with great customer service, great events, and very few botters, hackers, and rule breakers. Can it get any better than this?

Worst subscription model:

Free to Play!

Free to play, no doubt. This is where all the rule breakers go because it's just a registration form and a download away. They don't require anything from the cash shop, making this their favorite spot. Usually in these games, the game will become very unfair if it is too cash shop dependent, meaning users need to pay for cash shop items to do good in game. Whether it be potions, essential armors/weapons, or experience bonuses. The game also is a breeding ground for crappy companies that have terrible customer support and services, with events that a six-year old could have though up. Overall, this is the worst model as of now.
Why put F2P to be the worst? F2P is so nice if we can make good use of it. Look.

How does the world goes, if WOW goes F2P?

Blizzard will earn much more money from the item sale. (that may means bigger blizzard, more nice games from them and faster game development schedule). We will more players in WOW of course, that mean a bigger community, cool. And can save more time from the grind, buy a LVL 70 EXP potion and goes to dungeon with your friends.

No Balance? Use money buy items to save time, no money? Spent time to grind to save money, also can spent some time and some money both. Man, it looks so nice.

In game ads? It will be better, developer will earn much more money, so they could charge less from us.

I goes F2P model (improved version)

And yours? F2P B2P P2P?

I'm mostly for F2P, only going for B2P if I pay only once (a la Guild Wars). I would never buy a P2P game with a monthly fee.

At this point, the closest I get to a subscription-based game is XBox live, and $50 a year isn't that much to me.

I moved away from subscription-based gaming in general because the core idea is always the same. It's not about fun gameplay, it's about addictive game design. It's not about telling a good story, it's about getting the player to play forever. I've danced with the MMOs, but eventually I came to the conclusion that I wasn't having real "fun" playing them, like a druggie doesn't have "fun" shooting heroin.

That said, the best MMO experiences I had were P2P shops.

Esppnei, I don't think you don't have any idea what you're talking about. I completely agree with it, either one of them BUT F2P. I just turn 16 and I'm looking for a job. (I'm home schooled and have a bunch of extra time.) I can tell from your post you are one of the people who don't buy anything (Like over half of the players) and think it's so easy. Ads pay a lot less then you think they do, they need to pay for servers, admins, marketing, and a technical support team. You think they could make all of that off advertisements? If World of Warcraft went free Blizzard would make a lot less money. (And the community would go to down farther in hell.) From their huge player base they already have they need all the server management they can get, maybe from all the money they made so far they could take a lose and make it free to play. But why would you do that and stop your wealth from growing? And if free to play could be just as good as PTP games then why aren't they? At one time I WANTED to be an active player in a FTPMMO; a TRUE player that is active and spends $10-$40 on cash store items and such. But they are all horrible. Not only that but half of them aren't even fully translated to English.
