So PAX is a few hours away and as I sit in my house browsing through these forums, I wonder what other people thought of this purely video game convention in the emerald city? Do you guys think it will (has?) become a bloated fuck-fest like I feel San Diego comic-con has turned into, with more movie promotions and celebrity appearances than actual comic books? Thoughts?

All the conventions seem the same to me. Just different places for developers to show off, with E3 being the shiniest event.

So far, I like what I have seen from PAX, it seems to be generally based around making an event to be enjoyed by gamers, rather than being a chance for the big companies to compete for attention.

Also it is often used by indie devs to advertise smaller titles, which is always good.

Well, you know how red shoes will get you there? Turns of tapping blue shoes together three times works the other way around.

OT: I've never been to PAX, living as I do in the UK. I'd love to, though.

I've never been to a con, but I like the news boom that generally surrounds these things.

I am excited... We should see some good games get thrown in our faces and maybe, just maybe, Duke Nukem Forever! Or you know... those portable ones which have disappeared off the face of the earth, possibly due to humiliation from the worst trailer ever...

Meh, let's just live with what we know is there. I am looking forward to seeing Baldy Cole of inFAMOUS showing what lack of hair can do. Also, have they changed the voice actor I wonder? Would the new Voice actor suit him now he has no hair, or are we going to do a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air thing and not notice when one of the main character changes voice. (Look it up)

Calumon: I wanna see Kirby there! :'(
