Payday 2 on the Ps3 problems

So I'm on the crimenet and when an open game becomes avalible any I try to enter will come back and say 'lobby full' or something like that, or if I try to create my own lobby then no-one joins (hopefully that one is a connection error and not because no-one likes me)

Anyone else playing payday 2 on the ps3 getting this problem? I'd play single player but it's dreadful.

This isn't a NAT issue is it?
Bulletstorm had something very similar happen whereby it was practically impossible to join/host games if your NAT type was not OPEN unless gaming with people on your friends list.

P.S. I don't know much about the technicalities before you ask, it just seems to be behaving exactly the same.
