Dont know about you but the graphic doesnt really cut it for me, oblivion was as pretty, but worse animated ofcourse.

Even though I got max drawdistance and ultra on everything I could find I am still finding the weapons and characters and enviroment with bad resolution on textures.

Why is my glorious ancient nords sword mushy!?!?

Have you updated your drivers?

Also, maybe Bethesda have a limited budget, and poured it into things that aren't graphics. That's also a perfectly acceptable explanation. Why WOULD they do top-line graphics? Modders just pop in and outdo them anyways.

Looks pretty good to me, though it's nowhere near the leap that they made between Morrowind and Oblivion.

But so far it seems to be much better than Oblivion (though still lacking some of the charm of Morrowind) so I'm not complaining.

oh gosh, i never complained about the gameplay, its excellent so faar.
even if the graphic was descending from previous games i would play it, bethedsa seems to have done it again, in my point of view.

But when I look at my weapon, as an example, I find myself waiting for the textures to load. the modelling so to say, is there, but the textures seems to not fit to it. But it is an good enough explanation for betsie-studio to not focus on the graphic. I am not a graphic whore usually but the textures doesnt seem to load for me, it kinda ticks me off.

I'll check my drivers though, thanks for the tip!

Graphically, it's no where near as impressive as something like The Witcher 2 was, but that looked absolutely stunning for the most part, and I can't see how Projekt Red would of had a bigger budget for a sequel to what was realistically a niche title compared to one of the bigger RPG franchises out there.

Once I got over my initial shock though, nothing has really stood out at looking bad because i've been so focused on the gameplay, which is great so far (5-6 hours in). Animations are sticking out still for me, and riding a horse in 3rd person is one of the weirder things i've seen in a game (just try and look at the horses rear), but it's not a huge deal for me. The art direction is superb, so I can definitely gloss over the lack of graphical brilliance.

There are already mods, one of them fixes the blocky noses that apparently was a texture problem. Maybe some of the PC textures are actually console textures.
