My PC always makes this horrid racket and restarts when I wake it from it's sleep. Sometimes it asks me if I want to run safe mode, and sometimes it doesn't. It's Windows 7 DELL Optiplex 755.
Any advice and even a fix would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

most wake from sleep problems are cause by an enabled "wake by LAN" feature in the BIOS, should be able to deactivate it from there.

On my laptop I had some problems and for me deactivating the LAN adapter (possible from the device manager) did it, since I only use wireless, if that's an option, it also might help.

Third option is looking around in some forums for a different LAN/WLAN driver. (A bit risky if you're unexperienced). If your adapter is Atheros, it's probably the driver, they have pretty buggy ones.

Hope any of this helps

Horrid racket? You mean it makes a clicking, grinding noise or does the computer just beep a lot?
