http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1350864/School-defends-separation-black-students-boost-academic-results.html What a strange policy. They are basically teaching these kids that their role model should be someone of the same race. (sarcasm) Nope, I see no potential negative consequences in that.

Is there any kind of discussion value you want to bring up? Or are you just posting something for no discussion purpose at all?

Before people jump on the racism bandwagon, they claim "research" (nothing specific) that shows that ethnic groups with same ethnicity students and teachers do better. It makes sense if the "research" they are watching is legit.

it makes sense though... sort of.
But like a commenter said on the website, why only 6 minutes? It's seems like if it would work, then 6 minutes is too short of a time to really get any (positive) results.

All of his threads are like this, check his post history. He'll post a link and leave a single sentence, never to return to the thread again. I've tried reporting all of his OPs that are like that, but nada.

OT: I really don't know how I'm supposed to approach this topic while remaining on topic...

Yes because the way to prepare black students for the world is to let them know they can only excel when working with other blacks, and with the same gender. That's progress!

Maybe, but why is that? Is it because people are naturally more open to their own ethnicity, or is it becasue they have only really been exposed to their own ethnicity, making them uncomfortable around unfamiliar skin colors? If it's the latter, then this should definately be discouraged. Also, what research is this you speak of? For all we know it's just some KKK member contorting the findings of a study he only half read combined with talking out his ass, or perhaps just that second part on its own.

Ew, the daily mail. This is certainly odd, but worth considering if the results are significant.

In all honesty I really don't see much of a point in their little experiment. 6 minutes is far too short to actually gather the necessary data to draw an accurate conclusion. Also, while I don't think this is necessarily racist, I don't think this should be done in a public school or at the very least, not without permission (the article doesn't address this issue so I am assuming they are forced to do this). Seems like its just another floundering school looking to get their test scores up to make the taxpayers happy.
