Maturity is relative.
Your perception of others as mature/immature, at any age, relate directly to several factors: what you define maturity to be, what you personally value, and what your personality inclines you toward.
When I was young, I perceived those around me as being less mature than myself (although I never fooled myself into thinking I was mature)
Later, I came to realize that what it really boiled down to was that we shared different values/personality traits/hobbies etc.
