There are some people everybody hates and there are some people that are liked by a loud majority but hated by others (Justin Bieber comes to mind).

There are rarely people who are liked by the vast majority of people, two people who come to mind are:

Stephen Fry

The man is quintessentially British, a National treasure. I've never heard of anybody disliking the man. Which is rather ironic because he doesn't see himself as any of these things. Which makes us like him more.

Then there's this guy:

I know it's more of an internet thing, but the Old Spice Guy is brilliant, I'm pretty sure nobody is tired of this charismatic stallion. Also, he should totally play the Black Panther.

So, fellow escapists, is there anybody you think is pretty much liked by everybody? (Who knows about them of course).

This thread is now diamonds!

louis theroux, if he wasn't so difficult to dislike someone would have killed him years ago.

Both Fry (who my dad told me is a cousin of ours, but I doubt it very much. More likely we just share a last name) and Laurie (aka House, for people who don't know him by his irl name)... and I haven't met anyone who hasn't liked Neil Patrick Harris... I can't really think of anyone else who hasn't been named above

Johnny Depp.

He's made some of the worst films to ever grace our screens, and he's almost never seen doing interviews - but I've yet to meet anyone who dislikes him.

Maybe its a British thing that you have to like (or even know) Stephen Fry, cause I still have no idea who he is even though I see him mentioned in 1 out of every 3 threads I've posted/looked in to.

I've never met a person that didnt like Shigeru Miyamoto. Or anyone who didnt have a good thing to say about Brian Jacques' book series' (Redwall and Castaways of the Flying Dutchman), may he Rest in Peace.

And aside from the trolling Bieber fans, I've never met someone that didnt like Smashing Pumpkins.

I've yet to meet anyone who dislikes Frank Sinatra (even some guys who listen to metal like him). At worst, they're not fans, but no one hates him.

He's not very popular in Japan...

OT: Sir David Attenborough

I can't think of anyone else who has done more to bring the beauty of the natural world into our everyday lives, and his passion and enthusiasm for his work shines through and makes him a very personable chap.

Maybe that's an American thing then, because I can't be fussed with them.
