people's misunderstanding of Korra and Asami

People seem to think that Korra holding hands with Asmai means their gay. I don't understand why people are wrongly thinking this. Their best friends,who had a lot a of issues over both being in love with Mako and then after not talking for several years when Korra disappeared.. them holding hands and taking a vacation together does not mean their gay or bi.. unless from now on, every time a girl holds the hands of her best friends it must mean their gay.. why are people misunderstanding this situation?

I can see how this conversation is becoming a back and forth deal, so I'll end my participation here saying that a viewer cannot definitively determine whether something is one way or another when it's left open to different interpretation. It's the responsibility of fans to respect other peoples views and thoughts even if they don't agree. Peace.

nothing wrong with people having different views on thing that can be interpreted in such a way.. but this isn't one of those things.. Korra is straight and Asami is straight and people are just misunderstanding things with this.. I wonder if what people would have said if Korra and Asami hadn't held hands as best friends. would they still being insisting they're gay?

Find me a CANON source that says definitively that neither character is bi and I will accept your denial of it (you saying they're straight doesn't mean it's true)

Also didn't one of the creators (whose authority on this definitely supersedes yours) share an article praising the finale for including a same sex relationship?

Lastly, a personal question for the OP, why do you care so much? Why does it matter to you that Korra is straight? Jeez I know fundamentalist Christians who complain about this stuff less than some fanboys

Personally, I'm just glad the clues they scattered throughout the latter seasons paid off in the end. Frankly, I felt vindicated.

Them kissing a guy is not proof that they are straight, if anything it's proof that they are both bi rather than lesbians

Again I have to ask, why do you care. Even if, for the sake of argument you were right what do you hope to accomplish by arguing about a kids show with strangers on the internet? Why not let them be wrong (from your point of view)

There's been no conclusive proof that either character is straight. You assumed as much because they both showed interest in a boy. Being attracted to a boy doesn't rule out the possibility that they could also be attracted to girls. We can't really declare with certainty either way.
