How much pepper do you use in cooking, or do you use it at all?

Which one is your favorite one?
Do you like the hot peppers or the mild ones?

I use some pepper, mainly black pepper.
There's a peppermix I can buy in my local market which I think is nice, so I use some of that usually in casseroles.

I mainly use black peppercorn since it brings a nice flavor to stuff, mainly steak, but not too much since it would ruin the lovely meat flavor of steak.

I use pepper a lot when I'm cooking beef stuff, and some chicken.

Also, hot peppers are amazing.

Ha cha cha.

I dont add pepper to any cooking...but I eat alot of peppery snack foods...

I suppose if I am eating a hardboiled egg, I add pepper and salt to it though.

Now salt, that I add to alot of stuff. (white salt mind you, like you get with pepper)

We are not doing another stupid trend! One work cooking spice is the new Would You Date X, and I will not have it!

Whoa there, mister.

If you keep that attitude up and not embrace this pepper love-fest (and by extension pepper steak) I will make a thread about cinnamon.

And I fucking love cinnamon.

I like to put black pepper on my pasta and alfredo dishes as well as on hard boiled eggs.

That said the very first thing that came to mind was this:[footnote]Ye gods, I'm old![/footnote]

I don't use Pepper for stuff most of my foods. I mostly use it for Turkey Sandwiches.

Not to say Pepper sucks, because it doesn't; I just don't enjoy it on most foods.

Pepper's good on...damned near everything? There's a reason the spice trade was such a big deal, ya know.

As for what I put it on? Mainly vegetables like broccoli and corn, turkey clubs, bacon is occasionally pretty good with a bit of it, eggs in all forms, various soups, meat dishes like roasts and steak, etc.

Best spice. Right up there with salt. Almost like they were...were made for one another.

I like to put ground white pepper on mashed potato. Not really anything else I use it for, though. Couldn't say how much, either, since I haven't had any in a long, long time.

I put pepper on a looooooooooot of things. Cracked black peppercorns are my fave spice, so I tend to either a) Add it to anything I spice up b) Add a LOT of it to anything I spice up. It's too good not to include on stuff like salads, potatoes, meats, etc

I use various kinds of pepper (white, black, green, pink) in lots of things I cook. In moderation though. It's there to enhance the flavor of other ingredients, not BE the flavor.

I'm also a big fan of Mexican cuisine, so I use quite a lot of chili peppers. Most typical chili peppers are hard to come by over here, so I grow my own, as well as a number of other spices. Part of my harvest gets dried/smoked and ground into powder.
