So, its coming around to anniversary time soon, and I want to buy my husband something awesome he will always remember, for our first wedding anniversary...

He is a huge fan of: Halo, Effect, cooking, and lazer tag

(he does already own all the Halo games and both mass Effects, by the by)

So tell me, Escapist community, what should I dazzle him with?

We do also play Silkroad Online together... so maybe some in-game present option?

Probably an iPad, assuming you can afford it.

If you can't, I would just plan out a day with him. Start off the day with breakfast in bed. Give him the cookbook that you use as a gift. Then play some games (Halo/Mass Effect) with him. Then have lunch, using a recipe from either the same or a different cookbook. Then go play some laser tag for the afternoon. Then, cook a romantic dinner together.

Sounds like a fun day that he'll remember to me. :)

Have fun!

Paint yourself blue and dance like an Asari for him. That'll probably be nice.
Holy crap, this is genius, though I admit if my wife did this for me, I don't know which head would explode first.

Also, something from this site would probably go over well:

lol...

some really nice ones so far...

I thought about organizing a larzertag party for him and his freinds... we don't have a lazertag "place" here, really, except crummy Funzone... but we have a Lazer Skirmish business (very awesome- they have "real weppons, like P90's, S.A.W's etc) that can come out to a property or something (we do live on one).

Reserve him the Halo Reach Legendary pack.

Find a way to bottle liquid experience points. Every time you take a sip, the character in your RPG gains a level. It'll eliminate level grinding!

Seriously? Well, you could always look into Gears of War if he's into the mainstream FPS games.

same thing happened when assains creed 2 came out.. we had both placed pre-orders.. thankfully the store was understanding...

A simple suggestion, for 50-60$ you can get a Mass Effect N7 hoodie, very nice I hear, you can get it on the bioware site, on Bungie there are nice halo products, he might enjoy the ODST bookbag, If he uses one regurarly or has a laptop, which the bag has a compartment for.

Definitely go with something like this. I find that geeks always love hoodies <3 at least mine does. Congrats, btw.

to be crude and joking right now, I'd say sex.

To be much more mature and informative(and hte fact that's a given)...

Mod a laser gun so it looks like a halo weapon. Preferably whatever his favorite is. It can't be supremely difficult... Of course, the question is definitely how much time you have, how much you're willing to pay, and how quality you want it to be.
Personlly, I would be very excited to get a battlerifle laser tag gun.

Alternatively, cook? Well, his favorite meal with video game paper plates. : D And serve it to him wearing his favorite Effect female character's costume.

I find that over the top suggestions give me less intense ideas that are still really cool, so there's my post.

Prostitute. Dressed like Cortana. Then you do the paint yourself blue option from above. Best of both worlds. If you have some REALLY open hot friends and/or family members you could save on the prostitute. And if you know any painters you could save on the blue paint!

Seriously though, how into these things is he? If he's really into Halo and a reader I'd recommend getting him the Halo books. That's all I can really recommend at the moment, beyond the aforementioned blue orgy. I need more details on your husbands interests before I give a definitive answer.

For just general geeky stuff I would recommend looking at thinkgeek [http://www.thinkgeek.com/]. I swear I want pretty much everything on that site. If you can't find a gift there then there's something wrong with either you or your friend.

Isn't love thinking of his interests before your own?

Besides which, that doesn't tell me anything about his interests. It just tells me your family isn't as close as some.

There is close, then there is having sex with your relatives... with is just plain wrong... and its not in anyone's best interests...

I find your suggestion very offensive and morally skewed.
