I know this is old news and been done to death but there is one thing I was wondering about this whole thing that I haven't seen mentioned. (I'm outside america so I don't know if this was explained in the news or something of that sort.) Pizza was declared a vegetable due to the Tomato paste but Tomato isn't a vegetable, how did this get through a government? Can anyone enlighten me on this?

You! Yes, you! You look like you could use a lesson how now to search the forums. See, look at the very top of the page. Now look to the right. Now slowly move your eyes down, and just above the first post...stop! You'll see a little bar that tells you the messages you have. To the right of that is My Profile/Settings, and to the right of that is a link that says "Search Forums." This is a fantastic tool that allows you to search the forums for topics that are already made, and which may have dropped off the main page.

If you had used this wondrous tool, you could have seen that we've already had [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.326063-Growing-pizzas-or-why-I-cant-let-this-issue-just-go#13320446] lengthy discussions about this. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.323712-US-Congress-defines-Pizza-as-a-vegetable#13262658] And you might also notice these discussions took place in the Religion and Politics forum, where everybody who wants to have discussions about political and controversial things go. Because the Off-topic discussion forum (where you posted this thread) is for slightly less serious matters.

You might want to keep a copy of that, there's a slight chance you might want to post that in another thread.

[small]In fairness, the search function isn't always that great[/small]

It makes the "-and they'd grow foods like Pizza" comment from Wall-E a lot more hilarious in hindsight.

It is not always great, but I simply searched "pizza vegetable" and limited it to religion and politics. This person obviously didn't even try (or wasn't aware of it, which I suppose is excusable, but still annoying on this end).

Pizza
Bread crust, grain
Tomato Sauce, fruit
Cheese, dairy
Onions Peppers Mushrooms, vegetables
Pepperoni Sausage Ham Chicken, meat

Pizza a balanced diet

The FDA kinda just shoved this through to satisfy a petition that kept being sent in to classify pizza. They know It's stupid but unfortunately we still have to satisfy the 1/4 of our population thats retarded. The other 3/4 of Americans aren't this stupid, I promise you.

I never thought that so many people would whine about having an excuse to eat more pizza.

Assuming those are included.

This idea should be ridiculed, but not for the reasons it's being ridiculed.

We're Americans. Among excuses, "I'm getting vegetables" just doesn't cut it.

Nutrition is for socialists.
