Pizza is apparently serious business, more than any other food it seems.

What's up with that? People everywhere seem to have such strong opinions when it comes to pizza, whether it be frozen, delivery, what have you. I admit, much as I try to keep myself out of such petty squabbles, I get just as heated as anyone else when the topic of pizza choice comes up. Really, I have yet to find a pizza that I truly dislike; pizza is surprisingly hard to get totally wrong outside of toppings, but still if someone suggests ordering Dominoes, I want to strangle them. Other people clearly feel the same way when I suggest Pizza Hut. It always inevitably breaks down into pizza camps; half the room says Pizza Hut is greasy, sloppy shit in a box, while the other half claims Dominoes is little more cardboard with plastic cheese and ketchup on top. Then there's the one or two guys in the corner saying they both suck and we should get pizza from the local store that has the pizza weighed down with so many toppings you can't even pick it up without the slice falling apart completely.

I mean, why? Food has always been a realm of strong opinions and dismissal of opponents, but with pizza it seems especially venomous. I once had a guy tell me that rather than get Pizza Hut, he could just shit down my throat and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I apologize for that imagery. Does anybody out there NOT feel extra strongly when it comes to pizza preference?

Also, just between the two, I think we can all agree that Pizza Hut has infinitely better buffalo wings than Dominoes. *flees*

Pizza Hut and Dominoes are both terrible. Round Table bbq chicken pizza FTW.

I uh, can honestly say no, I do not feel that strongly about pizza. However, I feel strongly about mushrooms and olives on my pizza. Strong hate.

No Pizza Huts in Argentina but uh... if any of you ever swing by, Güerrin's terrific. There's a Pizza Hut-ish knockoff called Kentucky that's everywhere lately, doesn't get very good press but then big ass chains like McDonald's or Starbucks never do here... anyway, don't feel very strongly about pizza. There's the ONE place where it's extra pricey, and it's a classy joint so they don't deliver, you go get it yourself... which is kind of a pain. So if I'm feeling like "serious pizza" I go there, otherwise I order anything that's faster, more comfortable and preferably cheaper.

Reject both Dominos and Pizza Hut. Instead, go to Italy, and eat a pizza there. They're kinda different to what we think of as pizza, but in my view they're way way better. Or maybe its just becasue they're in Italy, they seem nicer... I dunno.

Of course I cant live in Italy (more's the pity) so I do occasionally succumb to pizza at home, but its never quite the same.

I don't care that much really. I can eat my local dominos and Pizza Hut.
Best Pizza I ever ate was at some random, small pizza restaurant/shop in a Kuala Lumpur shopping mall whilst I was in Malaysia a few years back.
Second goes to homemade wood fired pizzas.
Third goes to everything else. After that IDGAF, it all tastes like Pizza in some form or other.

I lived in New England for a year where you get real pizza, not this slop you get at Pizza Hut or Dominoes.

OK, I don't necessarily hate Pizza Hut or Dominoes, but neither of them are very appealing. I'd much rather go with Papa John's or CiCi's if I'm going with a larger chain. Still, local places are generally better if they know what they're doing, which it's not hard to find at least one place like that if you live in a larger city, and even many smaller ones have them. It really doesn't matter if it is New York, Chicago, or authentic Italian styled, as they are all good if done right; but I do prefer New York and authentic Italian. Brick oven is my preferred cooking method.

I have eaten samples of multiple fast foods produced in the past. tasty in my opinion but usually severely overpriced.
I have found pizzas i really dislike, but i havent tried even half the tastes loca retailers offer so i cant really make a statement. though i have aboslutely no quarrel with people who like different taste pizzas.
I still eat pizzas from time to time (like once a week), but those are the pizzas i make myself. i buy the cooked pad, but everything on top i create myself. quite expensive endavour, but tasty and the health factor is higher.

Been there as a tourist. one of the guys from the same flight asked tomato sause in the pizza place and got laughed at. i was smart enough to know they dont use any there :D its a ultimately western tradition to put tomatoes on there. but personally i like it better with it. though the italian pizzas are tasty. what i liked best in Italian food was their pastas though. still buy only italian imported pastas, cant compare.

Yup I love me some pizza!
Granted I rarely head into Pizza Hut (good luck finding an Dominos in Northen Wales) heck when I went there last Saturday with my Uncle, I recalled the last time I've went was several years ago!
So for that reason most of the time the pizza I eat are frozen but good brand like Goodfella or takeaway version (just as good since they are freshly made).

Alright, I'll bite. Where are you from and what's your major malfunction?

OT: I love delivery pizza just as much as the next person but I've never had these types of arguments with my friends regarding this subject. Sure, we have our preferences but we've never compared the less favoured ones to "shitting down one's throat".

Nothing, nothing beats the 2am on the way back from the pub dodgy take-away. Especially the ones that can be bought with pint change rather than having to pawn a family heirloom for garlic sauce money.

Also arguments about those sorts of takeaways are more relevant, as some of them may give you food poisoning.

I love pizza so much that I'll run over nursing homes and orphanages to have some.

Garlic pizza and chicken wing pizzas are staples for me. I don't mind the occasional bacon, sausage, pepperoni and cheese calzone, either.

I used to quite enjoy Dominoes before I tried it without being high as a kite.
Turns out it is pretty gross sober.

Nowadays I just make my own pizza or go to local pizza joint, Jack's Pizza.

Pizza Express for me!

It has my favourite pizza in, which also has my favourite pizza name: 'Pollo Ad Astra'!

'Pollo' is italian for 'Chicken'

'Ad Astra' is Latin for 'In Space' or 'To the Stars'

Whoever named that is a legend!

I'm Scandinavian. I dont eat that stuff because I dont want to poison my body with junkfood. I never ate it as a child/teenager either because it just didnt appeal to me, especially not greasy pizza's. I've never eaten hotdogs either btw. The diet in my family was based heavily on fish and white meat.
