So about 2 months ago a guy comments on a music video our band made for our song called 'breathe' asking if he could have the lyrics to sing along to and the other day by friend notices a video posted by the same guy titling his song 'breathe - a song i wrote'..

Our song and lyrics are copywrited so him claiming to have wrote any part of it is ridiculous.

These are the 2 videos the first is the guys cover and the second the original.

I'd like to hear if anyone else out there has experienced plagiarism musical or not and how blatant it was and if you could show support by leaving your thoughts on this assholes video and saying what you like about ours it would be most appreciated

First look up dmca claims and do some reading though, you can be fined for a false one. Thunderf00t has a series on them on youtube.

I honestly don't know what he is hitting but it barely resembles a drum haha well first off if he doesn't credit we'll notify youtube and then go from there i'll defiantly look up dmca claims our guitarist probably knows about them as he studies law at uni.

Yeah don't let it slide. I wouldn't let someone try and gain popularity with music I wrote and performed. At minimum get it removed or credited to you, at max slam him with something legal.
